Organizations Filed Purposes: TO INCREASE INNOVATIVE AND ENTREPRENEURIAL ACTIVITY IN ARKANSAS BY CREATING A COLLABORATIVE ECOSYSTEM THAT MOBILIZE THE RESOURCES, PROGRAMS, AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES NECESSARY TO DEVELOP, ATTRACT AND RETAIN TALENT TO BUILD THE STATE'S ECONOMY.

THE INNOVATION HUB IS A NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF ARKANSANS BY INSPIRING INNOVATION AND EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES. SINCE THE HUB'S OPENING IN 2014, OUR STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES HAVE PROVIDED TOOLS AND TRAINING FOR ENTREPRENEURS, STUDENTS AND OTHER MAKERS, PREPARING THEM TO JOIN AND GROW ARKANSAS'S ECONOMIC ECOSYSTEM. WE SEE AN ARKANSAS WHERE, REGARDLESS OF DEMOGRAPHIC IDENTIFIERS OR GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION, ARKANSANS ARE GENERATING AND INSPIRING INNOVATION IN CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY, BUSINESS, AND CREATIVE FIELDS. THE INNOVATION HUB USES TOOLS, SKILLS, AND EXPERTISE TO INSPIRE INNOVATORS AND ENTREPRENEURS WHO EXPAND THE RANGE OF EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEMSELVES, FOR THEIR COMMUNITIES, IN OUR STATE AND THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.

STEM - OUR FIELD TRIPS, SUMMER CAMPS, AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS HELP INTRODUCE CHILDREN ACROSS THE ECONOMIC SPECTRUM TO THE ARTS AND TO CUTTING-EDGE STEM TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATION. CLASSES DEVOTED TO ROBOTICS, ENGINEERING, CODING, PROGRAMMING AND VIDEO GAME DESIGN ENHANCE STUDENT'S STEM PATHWAYS. TO MAKE THESE PROGRAMS MORE ACCESSIBLE, WE PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS FOR EACH OF THESE PROGRAMS, BOTH ON GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL STUDENT LEVELS. FOR ADULTS AND OLDER TEENS, OUR CLASSES AND EQUIPMENT PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR JOB AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT AS ARTISTS, MAKERS, OR CRAFTSPEOPLE SUCH AS WELDERS.

ART - BEGINNING IN 2019, WE CREATED A DESIGNATED STREET-FRONT GALLERY SPACE FOR SOLO AND GROUP ARTIST EXHIBITIONS, CONTINUED TO PARTICIPATE AS AN ANCHOR ORGANIZATION IN OUR LOCAL 3RD FRIDAY ART WALK, AND PARTNERED WITH THE UALR CERAMICS CLUB TO HOST A POP UP POTTERY SALE AS A FUNDRAISER FOR VISITING ARTISTS TO THE UNIVERSITY AND FOR DEGREE SEEKING STUDENTS TO ATTEND A NATIONAL CERAMICS CONFERENCE. WE ALSO LAUNCHED ENTREPRENEURIAL WORKSHOPS FOR ARTISTS ON E-COMMERCE THROUGH ETSY AND ASSISTED ARTISTS IN ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS THROUGH FREE 1-ON-1 CONSULTATION SERVICES. WE EXPANDED OUR ART AFTER SCHOOL OFFERINGS TO INCLUDE PRINTMAKING, WATERCOLOR, TIE DYE, LASER CUTTING, 3D PRINTING, WELDING, WOODWORKING, AND MULTI-MEDIA AND CONTINUED TO OFFER ART FIELD TRIPS IN CERAMICS, SCREEN PRINTING, PRINTMAKING, 3D PRINTING, AND LASER CUTTING, AS WELL AS LAUNCHING A NEW FIELD TRIP -- THE "MAKER SHOW," AN INTERACTIVE STEAM PERFORMANCE -- FOR LARGE GROUPS. WE ALSO TOOK ART ON THE ROAD TO RURAL ARKANSAS SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES WITH THE MOBILE MAKERSPACE, TEACHING CERAMICS, SCREEN PRINTING, LASER CUTTING, 3D PRINTING, PRINTMAKING. AS AN EXTENSION OF THE MOBILE MAKERSPACE, WE PROVIDED A POP UP MAKERSPACE IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS IN FALL 2019, OFFERING ART CLASSES IN CERAMICS, SCREEN PRINTING, AND WOODWORKING AND PUBLIC EVENTS FOR VISUAL AND PERFORMANCE ARTISTS OF ALL AGES TO SHOWCASE THEIR ARTWORK AND TO PERFORM.

MOBILE MAKERSPACE - OUR MOBILE MAKERSPACE TAKES LEARNING ON THE ROAD, TAPPING THE POTENTIAL OF ARKANSAS' UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES. NOT EVERY COMMUNITY CAN AFFORD THE EXPENSE OR TIME NEEDED TO VISIT OUR CENTRAL ARKANSAS LOCATION, SO IN 2018, WE PARTNERED WITH COMMUNITY LEADERS TO CREATE A MOBILE MAKERSPACE THAT TAKES OUR OFFERINGS TO UNDERSERVED AND RURAL COMMUNITIES AND SCHOOLS ACROSS THE STATE. OUR CURRICULUM IS DESIGNED TO EXPLORE STEAM SUBJECTS USING A FUN PROJECT-BASED INTERDISCIPLINARY MODEL. THESE PROGRAMS ENRICH LOCAL EDUCATION, EXCITE COMMUNITIES WITH HANDS-ON STEAM ACTIVITIES, SPUR EMPLOYMENT AND JOB CREATION, AND BOLSTER ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY GROWTH, LIFTING UP ARKANSAS AND THE SURROUNDING REGION. OVER 2 YEARS, OUR MOBILE MAKERSPACE TEAM HAS VISITED 20 COUNTIES, TRAVELLED MORE THAN 7,000 MILES, AND REACHED 16,440 TOTAL PEOPLE, INCLUDING MORE THAN 3,000 STUDENTS.
