Organizations Filed Purposes: ACCELERATING THE TRANSITION TO A SUSTAINABLE WORLD POWERED BY CLEAN ENERGY

RENEWABLE/DISTRIBUTED ENERGY: CSE HAS MANAGED SEVERAL SOLAR PROGRAMS FOR UTILITIES IN THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA REGION, NAMELY PACIFIC POWERS CALIFORNIA SOLAR INCENTIVE PROGRAM AND THE CITY OF PALO ALTOS SOLAR WATER HEATING PROGRAM. CSE ALSO WORKED TO CREATE A SOLAR INCENTIVE PROGRAM FOR BEAR VALLEY ELECTRIC LOCATED IN THE CITY OF BIG BEAR LAKE. THIS PROGRAM IS DUE TO LAUNCH ON JANUARY 1, 2015. CSE LED A SUNSHOT INITIATIVE CONSORTIUM UNDER THE ROOFTOP SOLAR CHALLENGE II PROGRAM OF NUMEROUS JURISDICTIONS AND UTILITIES THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA FOR THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY. IN LATE 2014, CSE WAS AWARDED ANOTHER SUNSHOT INITIATIVE GRANT UNDER THE PROGRAM, SOLAR MARKET PATHWAYS, WHICH WILL WORK TO UNDERSTAND THE BARRIARS TO VIRTUAL NET METERING IN ORDER TO EXPAND THE TARIFF IN MULTIFAMILY AND MULTI-METERED PROPERTIES. CSE ADMINISTERS REBATE PROGRAMS TO ENCOURAGE MARKET ADOPTION OF ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES. CALIFORNIA SOLAR INITIATIVE (CSI) IS A 10-YEAR, $2.167 BILLION PROGRAM TARGETING 1,940 MW OF SOLAR GENERATION CAPACITY IN CALIFORNIA, 181 MW FROM THE SAN DIEGO REGION. CSE HAS FACILITATED NEARLY 178 MWS OF RESIDENTIAL AND NONRESIDENTIAL SOLAR SINCE CSIS 2007 LAUNCH WITH ANOTHER 34 MWS IN APPLICATIONS WAITING TO BE COMPLETED. CALIFORNIA'S SELF GENERATION INCENTIVE PROGRAM (SGIP) IS THE NATIONS MOST DIVERSE AND LONGEST RUNNING DISTRIBUTED GENERATION INCENTIVE PROGRAM, FACILITATING CONSUMER ADOPTION OF FUEL CELL, COMBINED HEAT AND POWER, ADVANCED ENERGY STORAGE, WIND GENERATION, BIOGAS AND OTHER GENERATION TECHNOLOGIES. SINCE 2001, CSE HAS PROVIDED $111 MILLION IN SGIP INCENTIVES FOR OVER 56 MW OF INSTALLED CAPACITY. IN 2014 ALONE, CSE RECEIVED $22 MILLION IN SGIP APPLICATIONS FOR 11 MW OF NEW CAPACITY. CSE IS LEAD FOR THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGYS COMBINED HEAT AND POWER TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PARTNERSHIP (CHP TAP) PACIFIC REGION (CALIFORNIA, HAWAII AND NEVADA), TARGETING 1,400 MW OF NEW CAPACITY BY 2020. AS CHP TAP ADMINISTRATOR, CSE CONDUCTED 50 TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ACTIVITIES IN 2014.

DEMAND SIDE ENERGY MANAGEMENT/ENERGY EFFICIENCY: CSE CONTINUES TO ADMINISTER ENERGY UPGRADE CALIFORNIA AS CALIFORNIAS BRAND AND A MARKETING, EDUCATION AND OUTREACH CAMPAIGN FOR INTEGRATED DEMAND-SIDE MANAGEMENT FOR RESIDENTIAL/SMALL BUSINESS CONSUMERS, USING SOCIAL MARKETING TO EDUCATE, MOTIVATE AND ACTIVATE CALIFORNIANS TO TAKE CONTROL OF THEIR ENERGY USE, FOR PERSONAL BENEFIT AND TO SUPPORT CALIFORNIAS ENERGY GOALS. SINCE ITS LAUNCH, CSE SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT HAS GROWN FIVE-FOLD AND BRAND AWARENESS HAS INCREASED BY 2%. CSE LEADS RELATED INITIATIVES TO DEVELOP A COORDINATED MARKETING PLAN FOR SEVERAL STATEWIDE ENERGY FINANCING PILOTS AND PROVIDE EDUCATION AND OUTREACH FOR THE CALIFORNIA CLIMATE CREDIT. CSE MANAGED AN HVAC PERMITING AND COMPLIANCE PILOT FUNDED BY THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION TO PROVIDE FINANCING, PERMITTING QUALITY CONTROL AND CONTRACTOR ENGAGEMENT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. CSE PROVIDED EDUCATION AND OUTREACH TO HOMEOWNERS AND EDUCATED CONTRACTORS, LOCAL GOVERNMENT STAFF AND REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONALS ABOUT FINANCING OPTIONS. CSE ADMINISTERED REBATES FOR HOME ENERGY RATINGS AND CONVENED THE SAN DIEGO REGIONAL RETROFIT ADVISORY COUNCIL TO ENGAGE STAKEHOLDERS IN ADVANCING THE LOCAL BUILDING PERFORMANCE MARKET. CSE PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO THE PORT OF SAN DIEGO IN SUPPORT OF THEIR GREEN BUSINESS NETWORK AND SUSTAINABILITY ACTIVITIES AT PORT FACILITIES. CSE PROVIDED FIELD VERIFICATION AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING TRAINING TO PROSPECTIVE HERS RATERS IN SAN DIEGO, LOS ANGELES AND SAN FRANCISCO. CSE PROVIDED TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO THE CITY OF CHULA VISTAS DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY ADDRESSING ENERGY AND GREEN BUILDING CODE COMPLIANCE.
