Organizations Filed Purposes: MUSANA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION EXISTS SOLELY TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS AND CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE MUSANA NGO IN UGANDA, WHICH IS WORKING TOWARDS SELF-SUSTAINABILITY. MCDO PROVIDES BOTH FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND EXPERTISE IN AREAS SUCH AS CONSTRUCTION, CRAFT SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND FINANCIAL REPORTING.

SUPPORT FOR THE NGO'S OPERATING ACTIVITIES IN UGANDA - GRANTS WERE PROVIDED TO SUPPLEMENT PROGRAM INCOME GENERATED BY THE SCHOOLS, HEALTH CENTER, RESTAURANT, GUEST HOUSE AND SKILLS TRAINING CENTER. 2,028 STUDENTS WERE PROVIDED QUALITY AND AFFORDABLE EDUCATION AT MUSANA NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOLS AND MUSANA VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL. MUSANA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER PROVIDED AFFORDABLE HEALTH SERVICES WITH 30,125 PATIENT VISITS AND AN ADDITIONAL 15,400 COMMUNITY MEMBERS RECEIVED FREE SERVICES AT OUTREACH EVENTS, TOTALING 45,525 PEOPLE THAT RECEIVED QUALITY AND COMPASSIONATE HEALTH CARE. THE MUSANA EMPOWERMENT CENTER GRADUATED 122 WOMEN WITH BUSINESS TRAINING AND A SKILL IN TAILORING, KNITTING OR HAIRDRESSING, GIVING THEM THE ABILITY TO GENERATE INCOME TO SUPPORT THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE NGO PROVIDED FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT WITH MONTHLY SALARIES TO 282 UGANDANS.

SUPPORT FOR THE NGO'S CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT - GRANTS WERE PROVIDED FOR INFRASTRUCTURE EXPANSION IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOLS - ADDITIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE FOR CLASSROOMS AND DORMITORIES AT MUSANA SCHOOLS, CONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF COMMUNITY SPACES LIKE DINING HALLS AND THE CHAPELS AND GENERAL IMPROVEMENT OF THE COMPOUNDS WITH PAVED ROADS, WALKWAYS, AND LANDSCAPING. MUSANA VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL - CONSTRUCTION OF THE ADMINISTRATION BLOCK, A-LEVEL BLOCK FOR TWO MORE GRADE LEVELS, AND A VOCATIONAL TRAINING BLOCK. MUSANA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER WAS EQUIPPED WITH IMPROVED SECURITY, ADDITIONS TO THE MATERNITY WARD, AND IMPROVED PLUMBING. MUSANA EMPOWERMENT CENTER - PROPERTY WAS PURCHASED FOR A NEW SITE FOR A FORMAL TRAINING INSTITUTE AND THE SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM EXPANDED INTO WHAT IS NOW CALLED MUSANA EMPOWERMENT CENTER. EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE WAS EXPANDED AND IMPROVED AND THE CENTER WAS FURNISHED WITH NEW EQUIPMENT. A MAJOR FOCUS IN 2019 WAS REPLICATING MUSANA NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL INTO ANOTHER COMMUNITY OF UGANDA IN KALIRO DISTRICT. THE NGO PURCHASED TEN ACRES OF LAND, CLEARED THE SITE, AND CONSTRUCTED A NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL WITH CLASSROOMS, DORMITORIES, OFFICES, STAFF HOUSING, AND THE BEGINNING PHASES OF A CHURCH, DINING HALL, AND KITCHEN. THE SCHOOL OPENED IN JANUARY 2020.
