Organizations Filed Purposes: THE OGRCC - OLD GREENWICH-RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY CENTER PROMOTES A SENSE OF COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING RECREATIONAL, ATHLETIC, EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL PROGRAMS.

THE ORGANIZATION'S GOAL IS TO PROMOTE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY RECREATIONAL, ATHLETIC, EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL PROGRAMS FOR OUR MEMBERS.

THE TRAVEL SOCCER PROGRAM SERVED 466 CHILDREN IN THE GREENWICH COMMUNITY IN 2019. THE PLAYERS PARTICIPATE IN 3 DIFFERENT LEAGUES WITHIN THE TRI-STATE AREA. THE PROGRAM RELIES ON VOLUNTEER MANAGERS AND ASSISTANT COACHES WHO HELP IN THE SCHEDULING OF GAMES AND PRACTICES. IN 2019, THERE ARE THREE COACHING DIRECTORS WHO DIRECT THE GREENWICH UNITED, OGRCC BOYS THUNDER SOCCER AND OGRCC GIRLS THUNDER SOCCER PROGRAMS, RESPECTIVELY. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE GENERAL MANAGEMENT OF TEAM FORMATIONS AND PROVIDING COACHES FOR EACH TEAM.

OUR BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CHILDCARE PROGRAM OFFERS ON SITE SUPERVISED CARE TO CHILDREN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 5TH GRADE. SITES ARE LOCATED AT OLD GREENWICH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (OGS); INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AT DUNDEE (ISD) AND NORTH MIANUS SCHOOL (NMS). OUR PROGRAM ALLOWS FOR DROP-INS ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS, OR PRE-REGISTRATION FOR 2 TO 5 DAYS PER WEEK. AT EACH LOCATION WE OFFER AFTER CARE THAT BEGINS AT THE END OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL DAY UNTIL 6:00PM. IN 2019, THE OGS LOCATION HAD 20 CHILDREN REGISTERED, THE ISD LOCATION HAD 47 CHILDREN REGISTERED AND THE NMS LOCATION HAD 66 CHILDREN REGISTERED. THE LOCATIONS ALSO PROVIDE PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT FOR A NUMBER OF TEACHERS.

OUR SANDPIPERS BEACH CAMP IS LICENSED UNDER THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES MAINTAINING STRICT HEALTH AND SUPERVISION GUIDELINES. COUNSELORS ARE ASSIGNED TO CAMPERS OFFERING ARTS & CRAFTS, GAMES, MUSIC, SPORTS, NATURE & EXPLORING THE BEAUTY OF GREENWICH'S TOD'S POINT. OTHER ACTIVITIES INCLUDE SWIMMING AND WATER SUPERVISION BY INSTRUCTORS CERTIFIED IN LIFEGUARD TRAINING. EACH CAMPER RECEIVES A T-SHIRT AND AN ENJOYABLE OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE THAT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. IN 2019, THE CAMP EXTENDED ITS HOURS AND MET MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY FROM 9:00 AM TO 3:00 PM AT TOD'S POINT. FRIDAYS ARE USED FOR RAIN MAKE-UP DAYS. IN 2019, 421 CAMPERS SIGNED UP WITH APPROXIMATELY 90-120 CAMPERS PER SESSION. SANDPIPERS ALSO PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT FOR A NUMBER OF COUNSELORS.
