FY2018-19 MAJOR PROGRAM 1: PUBLIC EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FOR TMT INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION COLLABORATION AND COORDINATION WITH THE THIRTY METER TELESCOPE (TMT) INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION. THESE FUNDS WERE USED FOR: 1) PUBLIC OUTREACH AND EDUCATION INCLUDING PUBLIC INFORMATION AND STAKEHOLDER MEETINGS IN AN EFFORT TO PROVIDE ACCURATE INFORMATION REGARDING TMT CONTRIBUTION TO EDUCATION AND CONSTRUCTION PLANNING TO ENSURE THAT COMMUNITY CONCERNS AND EXPECTATIONS ARE INTEGRATED INTO SHORT AND LONG-TERM OBJECTIVES OF TMT; AND, 2) ADMINISTRATION OF TMT COLLEGE INTERN PROGRAMS IN SUPPORT OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS (STEM) RELATED STUDIES, INCLUDING SUPPORT OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR.

FY2018-19 MAJOR PROGRAM 2: PUBLIC EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FOR ALASKA AEROSPACE CORPORATIONHIEDB WAS PRIVILEGED TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO DEVELOP A 21ST CENTURY ROADMAP FOR AEROSPACE ON HAWAII ISLAND BY MEANS OF SHIFTING FOCUS AND MISINFORMATION RELATED TO PRIOR SPACE PORT PROPOSAL AND OBSOLETE TECHNOLOGIES WITH LONG-TERM GOAL TO INCREASE AND ENHANCE COMMUNITY UNDERSTANDING AND ACCEPTANCE OF ALASKA AEROSPACE CORPORATION'S LAUNCH PROGRAM. THESE FUNDS WERE USED TO REACH DIFFERENT AUDIENCES IN THE COMMUNITY BY MEANS OF INFORMAL PRESENTATIONS FOR PERSONALIZED AND INTERACTIVE EXCHANGE WITH VARIOUS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS AND GROUPS AND USING FORMAL PUBLIC EDUCATION/OUTREACH PLAN TO PROVIDE ADVOCACY PROJECT AS DESIRED BY THE ALASKA AEROSPACE CORPORATION (AAC) INCLUDING AND NOT LIMITED TO, SUPPORT OF APPLICABLE LEGISLATIVE AND POLICY INITIATIVES THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA, WEBSITE, AND OTHER AS APPROPRIATE.

FY2018-19 MAJOR PROGRAM 3: NATIONAL SPACE SYMPOSIUM THE SPACE SYMPOSIUM HAS BROUGHT TOGETHER SPACE LEADERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO DISCUSS, ADDRESS AND PLAN FOR THE FUTURE OF SPACE AND HAS BECOME THE FORUM FOR INFORMATION ON ALL SECTORS OF SPACE. IN RECOGNITION OF THE MAGNITUDE OF PROJECT OPPORTUNITIES IN ASTRONOMY, AVIATION, AND AEROSPACE INITIATIVES ON HAWAI`I ISLAND, HAWAI`I ISLAND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD (HIEDB) HAS PARTICIPATED IN AND CO-SPONSORED THE HAWAI`I EXHIBIT AT THE 35TH SPACE SYMPOSIUM HELD IN COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO FROM APRIL 8 11, 2019.NSION.
