Organizations Filed Purposes: THE YMCA, A NON-PROFIT CHARITY, PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE SERVICES AND PROGRAMS TO THE CHILDREN, ADULTS AND FAMILIES WITHIN THE GREATER WESTFIELD AREA REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY, WHICH ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE EDUCATION, INSTRUCTION, PERSONAL (CON'T ON SCH. O) CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, RECREATION, FITNESS, WELLNESS, HEALTH, CHILDCARE AND LIFE LONG INTERESTS WHICH WILL POSITIVELY IMPACT THEIR LIVES AND THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.

TO PROVIDE SERVICES AND PROGRAMS TO THE CHILDREN, ADULTS AND FAMILIES WITHIN THE WESTFIELD AREA.

HEALTHY LIVING: THE Y IS COMMITTED TO IMPROVING AMERICA'S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING, COMMUNITY BY COMMUNITY. WE BRING FAMILIES CLOSER TOGETHER, ENCOURAGE GOOD HEALTH AND FOSTER CONNECTIONS THROUGH FITNESS, SPORTS, FUN AND SHARED INTERESTS. AS A RESULT OVER 6,000 PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY ARE RECEIVING THE SUPPORT, GUIDANCE AND RESOURCES THEY NEED TO ACHIEVE GREATER HEALTH IN SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY. THIS IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT AS OUR NATION STRUGGLES WITH CHRONIC DISEASE AND OBESITY, FAMILIES WRESTLE WITH WORK/LIFE BALANCE AND INDIVIDUALS SEARCH FOR PERSONAL FULFILLMENT. OUR PROGRAMS ARE ACCESSIBLE, AFFORDABLE AND OPEN TO ALL FAITHS, BACK-GROUNDS, ABILITIES AND INCOME LEVELS. IN 2019, WE PROVIDED $81,660 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE WHO OTHERWISE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO AFFORD TO PARTICIPATE.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: OUR YMCA IS COMMITTED TO NURTURING THE POTENTIAL OF EVERY CHILD AND TEEN. WE BELIEVE ALL KIDS HAVE GREAT POTENTIAL AND DESERVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY CAN ACHIEVE. THAT'S WHY WE HELP YOUNG PEOPLE CULTIVATE THE VALUES, SKILLS AND RELATIONSHIPS THAT LEAD TO POSITIVE BEHAVIORS, BETTER HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT. BEYOND PROVIDING CHILD CARE SERVICES IN A SAFE, STRUCTURED ENVIRONMENT FOR FAMILIES, OUR EARLY EDUCATION AND SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE PROGRAMS OFFER A RANGE OF EXPERIENCES THAT ENRICH SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL, COGNITIVE AND PHYSICAL GROWTH. IN 2019, WE PROVIDED $133,649 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES.

CAMP SHEPARD: THE PURPOSE OF YMCA DAY CAMP IS TO HELP, PRESCHOOLERS TO TEENS-GROW SPIRITUALLY, MENTALLY, AND PHYSICALLY. BY PROVIDING CHALLENGING ACTIVITIES IN BOTH SMALL AND LARGE GROUP SETTINGS, CAMP SHEPARD GIVES YOUNG PEOPLE AN EXPERIENCE THAT CAN LAST A LIFETIME. THIS EXPERIENCE IS GROUNDED IN A SET OF SEVEN OBJECTIVES: GROW PERSONALLY, LEARN VALUES, IMPROVE PERSONAL AND FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS, APPRECIATE DIVERSITY, BECOME BETTER LEADERS AND SUPPORTERS, DEVELOP SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ASSETS, AND HAVE FUN. CAMP SHEPARD PROVIDES A UNIQUE OUTDOOR EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR CHILDREN. IN 2019, WE SERVED OVER 500 UNIQUE CAMPERS AND PROVIDED $31,862 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.
