Organizations Filed Purposes: AS A COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, CCF HELPS DONORS IDENTIFY CHARITABLE NEEDS IN THE COMMUNITY AND OFFERS ASSISTANCE TO ADDRESS THOSE NEEDS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO ACTS AS A CONVENER IN THE COMMUNITY BRINGING TOGETHER DIVERSE STAKEHOLDERS TO ADDRESS ISSUES IN THE COMMUNITY.

THE FOUNDATION OPERATES UNDER THE UMBRELLA ORGANIZATION KNOWN AS THE LOCAL IMPACT ALLIANCE (LIA). LIA SERVES THE CANTON, PLYMOUTH, WESTERN WAYNE COUNTY AND SOUTHERN OAKLAND COUNTY COMMUNITIES. THE CREATION OF THE LIA RECOGNIZES THE UNIQUE INITIATIVES THAT FUNCTION UNDER IT WITH EACH INITIATIVE'S INTERESTS MADE PROMINENT: THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF PLYMOUTH FOCUSES ON PHILANTHROPY AND NEEDS IN THE 48170 ZIP CODE; THE GIVING HOPE WOMEN'S GIVING CIRCLE SEEKS TO EDUCATE WOMEN ABOUT PHILANTHROPY WHILE FOCUSING ON THE NEEDS OF WOMEN AND FAMILIES IN THE REGION; PORCH MATCHES VOLUNTEER "FRIENDS" WITH "NEIGHBORS" IN NEED OF COMPANIONSHIP AS A WAY OF ADDRESSING THE EPIDEMIC OF SOCIAL ISOLATION. THE FOUNDATION ASSISTS DONORS IN IDENTIFYING COMMUNITY NEEDS FOR GRANTMAKING AND HAS DEVELOPED RELATIONSHIPS WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTS WHICH HAVE LED TO THE CREATION OF FUNDS THAT SERVE THE NEEDS OF SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN AND ADULTS, AT-RISK YOUTH, AND THE CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF RECREATION TRAILS. OVER THE PAST THREE DECADES, THE FOUNDATION HAS EVOLVED FROM SERVING THE LOCAL, GROWING COMMUNITY OF CANTON TO BECOMING A LEADER IN OUR REGION FOR HELPING PEOPLE CREATE THEIR OWN PERSONAL LEGACY, WHILE ALSO BEING THE GO-TO NONPROFIT PARTNER TO CREATE PROGRAMS FOCUSING ON HEALTHY LIFESTYLES FOR RESIDENTS OF WESTERN WAYNE COUNTY AND BEYOND.

THE CANTON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AND THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF PLYMOUTH PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO COLLEGE- OR TRADE SCHOOL-BOUND STUDENTS. A SCHOLARSHIP AT CCF AND CFP EMPOWERS THE DONOR TO HELP LOCAL STUDENTS ACHIEVE THEIR ACADEMIC AND CAREER DREAMS. OUR CUTTING-EDGE APPLICATION PROCESS MAKES THE PROCESS EASY FOR STUDENTS AND REVIEWERS TO USE. OUR SCHOLARSHIP DONORS CONSIST OF ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE ABLE TO DESIGN THEIR UNIQUE CRITERIA FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP. SINCE 1989, OVER 1.3 MILLION IN SCHOLARSHIPS HAVE BEEN PAID OUT TO OVER 1200 STUDENTS.

THE CANTON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION RECOGNIZES THE SACRAFICE OF OUR MILITARY VETERANS AND THE NEEDS AND CHALLENGES THAT ARE UNIQUE TO THIS GROUP. CCF HAS DEVELOPED PROGRAMMING THAT ASSISTS VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN ADDRESSING THE EVER-CHANGING NEEDS OUR VETERAN COMMUNITY - FROM HEALTHCARE AND DISABILITY BENEFITS TO LEGAL ASSISTANCE AND MORE. ALONG WITH OUR VETERANS' PROGRAMMING, CCF MANAGES A FUND TO MAINTAIN THE PLYMOUTH COMMUNITY VETERANS' MEMORIAL PARK.
