AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM -THIS PROGRAM RECENTLY CELEBRATED 14 CONSECUTIVE YEARS OF OUTSTANDING FREE AFTERSCHOOL ENRICHMENTS FOR AT-RISK ELEMENTARY AGED STUDENTS IN GRADES 1-5. THE PROGRAM HAS A 15 YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH 8 DIFFERENT PUBLIC ELEMENTARY SHCOOLS IN GARNER NC. STUDENTS ENROLLED AT COMMUNITY OF HOPE ENJOY SAFE, STRUCTURED ACTIVITIES DURING NON-SCHOOL HOURS WITH BASIC EMPASIS ON GRADE LEVEL MATHEMATIC AND READING SKILL REINFORCEMENT AS OUTLINED BY THE NEW COMMON CORE. HIGHLY SKILLED TEACHERS GUIDE STUDENTS IN HOMEWORK COMPLETION AND IN PRACTICE ACTIVITIES IN THE COMMUITY OF HOPE COMPUTER LAB. STUDENTS ARE PROVIDED A HEALTHY SNACK DAILY UPON ARRIVAL AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN SUPERVISED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN A GROUP SETTING AS INDIVIDUALS. THIS PROGRAM SERVED 75 DIFFERENT STUDENTS IN 2019. STUDENTS IN THE PROGRAM DO NOT PAY TO ATTEND. THE PROGRAM WAS ABLE TO SERVE 75 DIFFERENT STUDENTS FOR 32 WEEKS AT AN AVERAGE COST OF ABOUT $21 PER STUDENT PER WEEK.

CAMP COURAGE IS AN EXCITING, FUN-FILLED SUMMER ENRICHMENT EXPIENCE AVAILABLE FOR GARNER AREA YOUTH WHO HAVE FINISHED THE KINDERGARTEN YEAR THROUGH SIXTH GRADE YEAR. THE CAMP OPERATES FROM 7:30AM TO 6:00PM MULTIPLE WEEKS THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER OFFERING WORKING PARENTS AN AFFORDABLE OPTION FOR SUPERVISED CARE. CAMP COURAGE IS MUCH, MUCH MORE THAN CHILDCARE. PAST CAMP THEMES INCLUDE: SPACE AND THE PLANETS, THE AMAZING ANIMAL KINGDOM, OCEAN EXPLORERS AND MYTHBUSTERS. CAMPERS ENGAGE IN EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING, PHYSICAL EXERCISE, READING AND MATH CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT, COOKING, ARTS AND CRAFTS AND MORE. THE FACILITY BOASTS A FULL SIZED CLIMATE CONTROLLED BYMNASIUM AND A STATE OF THE ART COMPUTER LAB FOR ONLINE LEARING.

FOOD PANTRY: THE COMMUNITY OF HOPE FOOD PANTRY OFFERS A ONE WEEK SUPPLY OF NUTRITIONAL ASSISTANCE FOR FOOD PANTRY CLIENTS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS. THE FOOD PANTRY HAS DEVELOPED A DATABASE OF OVER 1800 FAMILIES. IN THE YEAR 2019, THE COMMUNITY OF HOP FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTED OVER 179,000 MEALS TO AT RISH FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY. THE PANTRY HAS PARTNERSHIPS WITH AN AREA FOOD LION, THE FOOD BANK OF EASTERN NC , A LOCAL PRODUCE FARMER AND MANY CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS AND CLUBS WHO HELP TO SUPPLY THE GROCERIES DISTRIBUTED THROUH THE FOOD PANTRY. THE PANTRY SERVES AN AVERAGE OF 60 DIFFERENT FAMILY UNITS PER WEEK.
