The Village of St. Edward is a senior living community operating in Fairlawn, Ohio with specialized care including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Assisted Living Memory Care and Skilled Nursing in a faith based environment that is consistent with Catholic tradition and teaching.
Nursing Care Services: In providing nursing care services, The Village of St. Edward meets the diverse health, social and spiritual care needs of older adults who live in a structured, protected living environment. Since its inception in 1964, St. Edward has provided the highest level of compassionate care and services for its residents. The organization has built an exemplary record in delivering quality care and services and of regulatory compliance. The Village of St. Edward is a Catholic organization with historical ties to the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. No other Catholic sponsored organization in the Akron area offers the same services and programs. The Village of St. Edward participates in both the Medicaid and Medicare programs. During 2019, Nursing Care provided 27,954 days of care. In addition, the organization donated use of its spaces to various charitable or community groups. The Village also served as a training site for various high school, college or career center students.
Independent Living Services: The Village of St. Edward believes in a long-term relationship with the older adults who reside in their community. In providing independent living services, not only does The Village of St. Edward provide living quarters attentive to the requirements of an aged population, but also opportunities for personal growth and enrichment. The Village's Independent Living services is an affordable living option for many low to middle income elderly residents of the Akron region. During 2019, the independent living facility provided 27,559 days of occupancy for high-functioning senior citizens. In addition, The Village donated use of its numerous spaces to various community organizations, coordinated collections of clothing items for a local area church, school supplies for a local school and raised monies for a local food pantry.
Assisted Living Services: The Village of St. Edward provides Assisted Living services for a level of care between skilled nursing and independent living. During 2019, The Village provided 25,934 days of care in assisted living. The Village participates in the Assisted Living Waiver program, a long-term care option for Medicaid recipients, and offers an alternative to nursing home placement.
