Organizations Filed Purposes: PROVIDING HOPE AND RESOURCES FOR THOSE WITHOUT LIFE'S ESSENTIALS.

DISASTER RELIEF: FEED THE CHILDREN, ALONG WITH OUR NETWORK OF PARTNERS, RESPONDS QUICKLY WHEN A DISASTER HITS EITHER IN THE U.S. OR INTERNATIONALLY. WHEN DISASTERS STRIKE, SPEED IS VITAL. FEED THE CHILDREN STAYS READY TO RESPOND QUICKLY TO HURRICANES, FLOODS, EARTHQUAKES, TORNADOES, EVEN WAR AND CONFLICT - ANYTHING THAT LEAVES CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES IN A WAKE OF DEVASTATION. WE HELPED CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WHO WERE IN THE PATHS OF HURRICANES ANDREW IN FLORIDA, KATRINA ON THE GULF COAST (ESPECIALLY NEW ORLEANS), AND SANDY IN THE NORTHEAST. IN 2014, FEED THE CHILDREN AND OUR PARTNERS CONTINUED RESPONDING WITH RELIEF AND RECOVERY EFFORTS TO AREAS AFFECTED BY DISASTERS, SENDING FOOD AND SUPPLIES TO THE AREAS HIT BY THE COLORADO FLOODS AND THE OKLAHOMA AND MIDWEST TORNADOES. JUST TWO WEEKS AFTER A 7.2 EARTHQUAKE HIT THE ISLANDS OF THE PHILIPPINES, KILLING HUNDREDS, DAMAGING HOMES AND RATTLING OVER 1 MILLION PEOPLE, SUPER TYPHOON HAIYAN SWEPT ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THE TYPHOON WAS THE DEADLIEST EVENT IN THE ASIA-PACIFIC, KILLING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE, AFFECTING MILLIONS PEOPLE AND DISPLACING MANY FROM THEIR HOMES.OUR STAFF IN CEBU CITY RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY. WE SENT MOBILE KITCHENS, BAGS OF RICE AND BOTTLED WATER IN THE HOURS AND DAYS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE STORM. WITH PARTNERS LIKE NU SKIN, WE SET UP MORE FEEDING CENTERS AND DISTRIBUTED RELIEF GOODS LIKE FAMILY-SIZED MOSQUITO NETS, TENT MATERIALS FOR TEMPORARY SHELTER AND FOOD PACKS.

EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: FEED THE CHILDREN HELPS STUDENTS STAY IN SCHOOL BY PROVIDING THEM WITH BACKPACKS FULL OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES, PERSONAL CARE ITEMS AND SNACKS. CHILDREN NEED A GOOD EDUCATION TODAY TO HAVE HOPE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW. GOING TO SCHOOL IS ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF HUNGER AND POVERTY. FEED THE CHILDREN HAS DISTRIBUTED THOUSANDS BACKPACKS TO HOMELESS CHILDREN THROUGH H.E.L.P. (HOMELESS EDUCATION LITERACY PROGRAM). IN ADDITION, FEED THE CHILDREN PROVIDES SCHOOL SUPPLIES, TEXTBOOKS AND PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS TO STUDENTS ACROSS AMERICA.TEACHERS KNOW THAT WITHOUT THE RIGHT TOOLS FOR LEARNING, CHILDREN FACE OVERWHELMING ODDS. BECAUSE THEY ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT HELPING CHILDREN, MANY REACH INTO THEIR OWN POCKETS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS FOR THEIR STUDENTS, BUT THE COSTS CAN BE STAGGERING. FEED THE CHILDREN SUPPORTS THE TEACHERS IN OUR NATION'S POOREST SCHOOLS BY INVITING THEM TO SHOP FOR FREE CLASSROOM AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES AT ONE OF OUR THREE TEACHER STORES.
