THE JUNEAU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WAS CREATED TO PROMOTE PHILANTHROPY AND EFFECTIVELY RESPOND TO THE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY TO CREATE A HEALTHY, SAFE, AND CULTURALLY RICH ENVIRONMENT.
THE JUNEAU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SERVES AS A VEHICLE FOR LONG TERM CHARITABLE GIVING BY MAINTAINING KNOWLEDGE OF THE NEEDS AND RESOURCES IN JUNEAU; CONNECTS DONORS WITH THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT WORK TO MAKE OUR COMMUNITY A BETTER PLACE; PROVIDES DONORS WITH THE ASSURANCE THEIR GIFTS WILL HAVE THE GREATEST BENEFIT WHILE REMAINING TRUE TO THEIR DESIGNATED WISHES; PARTNERS WITH PROFESSIONAL INVESTMENT AND FINANCIAL ADVISORS TO MAXIMIZE GIFT POTENTIAL AND ENHANCES PHILANTHROPY IN JUNEAU TO FUND COMMUNITY PROJECTS NOT COVERED BY EXISTING NONPROFITS.
THE FOUNDATION CONTINUED TO GROW THROUGH 2019 WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW FUNDS: FOREVER FRIENDS OF THE STATE LIBRARY, ARCHIVES & MUSEUM ENDOWMENT, JUNEAU NORDIC SKI CLUB, BRIAN MAHONEY MEMORIAL; COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDS: BLUE TICKET THEATER, HILDA DAM CABIN AT EAGLECREST, JUNEAU CARBON OFFSET, JUNEAU HOUSING FIRST PHASE II, NEW GLORY HALL, TREADWELL DITCH RENOVATION; AND, CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT FUNDS: YOUTH & EDUCATION, ARTS AND CULTURE, PARKS, TRAILS & RECREATION, AND COMMUNITY WELLNESS. THE JUNEAU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FUNDS SUPPORT A VARIETY OF INTERESTS AND CHARITABLE PASSIONS . THE FOUNDATION NOW CONSISTS OF A TOTAL OF 66 FUNDS WITH AN ASSET VALUE OF 66 MILLION. DURING 2019 TOTAL GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS TO INDIVIDUALS WAS OVER 3.5 MILLION. THE JUNEAU HOPE ENDOWMENT FUND AND CBJ SOCIAL SERVICE GRANTS PROVIDED OVER 1.8 MILLION IN GRANTS TO SOCIAL SERVICE NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDING SERVICES FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION, SUICIDE PREVENTION, HOSPICE, MENTAL HEALTH, HOMELESSNESS, VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE, JOB TRAINING, HEALTH AND EDUCATION.
