Organizations Filed Purposes: SERRC IS ALASKAS EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE CENTER DEDICATED TO DELIVERING EXEMPLARY SERVICES AND PROGRAMS TO ALASKA SCHOOL DISTRICTS.

SERRC - ALASKAS EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE CENTER PROVIDES DIRECT STUDENT SERVICES, SCHOOL AND DISTRICT SUPPORT SERVICES, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES INCLUDING ADULT EDUCATION) TO STUDENTS OF ALL AGES THROUGHOUT ALASKA.

INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT SERVICE THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES SPECIAL EDUCATION RELATED SERVICES (SPEECH, PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY AND SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY), TRANSITION SERVICES, TECHNOLOGY, ADULT AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION, CAREER CONNECTIONS, DRIVERS EDUCATION, CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND FAMILY LITERACY. SERRC IS THE LARGEST PROVIDER OF RELATED SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES IN THE STATE OF ALASKA. DURING FY19 746 STUDENTS WERE SERVED IN 24 DISTRICTS. TRANSITION CAMPS WERE HELD IN VARIOUS DISTRICTS IN THE STATE. SERVICES WERE ALSO PROVIDED AT JUVENILLE JUSTICE FACILITIES. DURING FY20 94 STUDENTS WERE SERVED IN 6 TRANSITION CAMPS IN VARIOUS COMMUNITIES IN ALASKA. TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT PROVIDED SERVICES TO 20 ALASKA SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND ORGANIZATIONS TO ASSIST WITH IMPLEMENTATION AND MAINTENANCE OF CUSTOMIZED TECHNOLOGY USED TO IMPROVE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AND SCHOOL EFFICIENCES. AK DRIVE (DRIVERS EDUCATION) HELPS SOUTHEAST ALASKANS OBTAIN DRIVERS LICENSES THROUGH CLASSROOM, SIMULATOR INSTRUCTION AND BEHIND-THE-WHEEL TRAINING. DURING FY 20 THE DRIVERS EDUCATION PROGRAM TAUGHT AS MANY STUDENTS AS POSSIBLE DURING THE COVID-A9 PANDEMIC.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SERVICES THIS PROGRAM INLCUDES BUSINESS SERVICES, SPECIAL EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION, FEDERAL PROGRAMS COOPERATIVE, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION AND FACILITES, COMMUNICATION SERVICES (ERATE), AND TRAINING. DURING FY20 SERRC WROTE 49 SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION APPLICATIONS. PREPARED DISTRICTS FOR DEED MAINTENANCE VISITS AND HELPED DISTRICTS GET RECERTIFIED. MANAGED MAINTENANCE FOR 25 DISTRICTS WITH OVER 600 BUILDINGS AND MORE THAN 650,000 WORK ORDERS. DURING FY20 SERRC CONTINUED TO PROVIDE BUSINESS SERVICES TO FOUR SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN THE STATE. SERRCS FEDERAL PROGRAM CONSORTIUM SUBMITTED FORMULA GRANTS TO THE ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS AND THE OFFICE OF INDIAN EDUCATION. STAFF ALSO ASSISTED DISTRICTS WITH PRE-COMPLIANCE MONITORING TO ENSURE COMPLIANT PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION. 31 GRANTS FOR 9 SCHOOL DISTRICTS WERE SUBMITTED TOTALING 2,023,767 AND IMPACTING 2,461 STUDENTS. IN FY20 SERRC'S E-RATE DEPARTMENT ASSISTED 15 SCHOOL DISTRICTS THAT RESULTED IN COST SAVINGS THAT BENEFITED STUDENTS AND STAFF.

PROGRAM IMPROVEMENT THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES STAFF DEVELOPMENT (PROFESSIONAL LEARNING), ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION, CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT, GRANT WRITING AND RESEARCH. DURING FY 20 SERRC PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING SERVICES TO VARIOUS DISTRICTS/COMMUNITIES IN THE STATE OF ALASKA. SCHOOL STAFF WERE PROVIDED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NECESSARY TO ENABLE STUDENTS TO SUCCEED IN A WELL- ROUNDED EDUCATION AND TO MEET ACADEMIC STANDARDS.
