TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THROUGH FINANCIAL EDUCATION,CREDIT AND HOUSING COUNSELING AND DEBT MANAGEMENT SERVICES.
Our twenty-fifth year at Credit Counseling, Inc. (CCOA) has been a year of growth with new team members to welcome, new projects to launch and new challenges to overcome. Each of our team members played a pivotal role in helping CCOA uphold our values of professionalism, integrity, customer service and teamwork as we lived out our mission as caring financial professionals. As we review the success measures from the past year, the disruptions experienced throughout our communities and economies had an evident impact on our performance goals. Consider the following Statistics: Education Participants: 22% decline year over year Counseling Clients: 10% decline year over year First Time Counseling Appointmnets: 19% decline year over year DMP Clients: 9% below projection; and DMP Revenue: 6% below projectionWhile these numbers are not ideal, neither do they convey the entire picture of our 25th year. Despite the challenges caused by recent events, our team moved some mountains and reached some key milestones. Consider the following stories: Education: Our team launched a three-year financial capability project with Arvest Bank; Counseling: Our team provided 1,515 free counseling sessions, which was 81% of our total session volume. DMP Clients: Our team helped 205 clients become debt free this year the highest number since 2016; Revenue: New grant funding and a forgivable Paycheck Protection Program loan helped us finish the year with a budget surplus for the first time in 10 years. Add to these truimphs the fact that we were not closed one day due to the pandemic. When asked to adjust, our team shifted to remote work without compromising our availability or service quality. The numbers and narrative above required significant sacrifice, commitment and diligence from each CCOA employee. These traits helped us weather the storm while remaining focused on our mission to provide leadership and services that improve the quality of life for individuals and families. Finally, these achievements would not have been possible without the support of partners and volunteers including the CCOA Board of Directors, CCOA Community Action Groups, local colleges, businesses, churches and nonprofit organizations. We look forward to continuing our work with these partners to address new challenges and provide opportunites for financial freedom to thousand of households in the coming year.
