Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE ORGANIZATION'S PURPOSE IS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE BENEFIT OF PATIENTS OF ITS MEMBERS AND CREATE A BETTER WORK ENVIRONMENT FOR THE MEMBERS' EMPLOYEES BY FACILITATING THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND SUCCESS OF THE PHYSICIAN MEMBERS.
TO CONDUCT SEMINARS AND HEALTH FAIRS TO PROMOTE HEALTHY LIFESTYLES AND TO OTHERWISE PROMOTE THE MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION. IN 2019, THE ORGANIZATION'S ANNUAL HEALTH & FITNESS EXPO WAS ATTENDED BY APPROXIMATELY 11,500 PEOPLE. THERE WERE 121 BOOTHS AT THIS EXPO WITH 100 PHYSICIANS AND 900 VOLUNTEERS PARTICIPATING. THE PHYSICIANS CONDUCTED 1,316 PRE-PARTICIPATION PHYSICALS INCLUDING 902 EKGS. APPROXIMATELY 4,365 SCREENINGS WERE DONE WHICH INCLUDED CAROTID ARTERY, ANKLE BRACHIAL INDEX, COPD, MAMMOGRAMS, BLOOD DRAWS (INCLUDING FULL BLOOD LIPID PANEL, THYROID FUNCTION & A1C FOR DIABETIES), DENTAL, HEARING, AND VISION SCREENINGS. AN AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE WAS HELD AND COLLECTED 17 UNITS OF BLOOD SAVING UP TO 51 LIVES. OVER 1,000 INDIVDUALS TOURED THE STROKE EXHIBIT. THE EXPO ALSO INCLUDED A 5K RUN, HALF-MARATHON AND KIDS RACE IN WHICH OVER APPROXIMATELY 528 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED. IN ADDITION TO THE EXPO, THE PHYSICIANS DID PHYSICALS FOR ATHLETES AT THE LOCAL UNIVERSITY AS WELL AS TWO AREA PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO HAS A MEGABODY ADVENTURE EXHIBIT WHICH IS AN INFLATABLE EXHIBIT THAT TAKES STUDENTS ON A WALK-THROUGH TOUR OF THE HUMAN BODY AND FEATURES EXPERIENTIAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES. THE EXHIBIT IS USED TO ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO MAKE HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES AND TO BE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE. CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES ARE PROVIDED FOR USE PRIOR TO AND FOLLOWING THE TOUR. THE EXHIBIT RAISES AWARENESS AMONG PARENTS, SCHOOL PERSONNEL AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF TEACHING CHILDREN TO PRACTICE HEALTHY BEHAVIORS. IN 2019, THE EXHIBIT WAS TAKEN TO TWO AREA ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, THE EXPO AND AN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR UNDER-SERVED CHILDREN WITH 858 STUDENTS PARTICIPATING. TEN VOLUNTEERS HELPED WITH THIS EXHIBIT DURING THE YEAR.
TO PROVIDE INFORMATION AND ENGAGE IN A MARKETING INITIATIVE TO FURTHER ADVANCE THE PURPOSES OF ST. BERNARDS MEDICAL GROUP (SBMG). SBMG ENGAGES IN MARKETING EFFORTS TO PROMOTE THE MEMBERS OF SBMG THROUGH RADIO ADS, TELEVISION ADS, BILLBOARD ADVERTISING, AND PRINT ADS; FEATURING MEMBERS ON THE SBMG FACEBOOK PAGE; ISSUING PRESS RELEASES FOR NEW PHYSICIANS, NEW PROCEDURES OFFERED AND OTHER NEWSWORTHY EVENTS; LISTING ALL MEMBERS ALONG WITH A PHOTOGRAPH IN THE ONLINE AND PRINTED DIRECTORY OF PHYSICIANS AND CLINICS; AND MAINTENANCE OF A WEBSITE WITH INTERACTIVE FEATURES AND MULTIPLE WAYS PATIENTS CAN SEARCH FOR DOCTORS AND CLINICS. THIS YEAR SBMG ALSO CONDUCTED A DIGITAL AD CAMPAIGN PROMOTING SBMG PHYSICANS AND THE HEALTH & FITNESS EXPO.
TO PROVIDE STRATEGIC PLANNING ON BEHALF OF THE ORGANIZATION'S PHYSICIAN MEMBERS, TO ASSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS AMONG MEMBERS, TO PROVIDE A MEDIUM FOR NETWORKING, TO CONDUCT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES TO STRENGTHEN AND DEVELOP PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT, AND TO PROMOTE THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF MEMBER PHYSICIANS. ALSO, DONATIONS WERE MADE TO ORGANIZATIONS WHICH PROMOTE THE MISSION OF SBMG.
