CHANGING LIVES THROUGH EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT.
Goodwill's mission is primarily supported by revenue from the sale of donated goods in our 35 locations across the state. Over one-half of our locations have onsite career coaches who help job seekers find their next great job. Goodwill has helped thousands of people with disabilities and disadvantages secure part-time or full-time employment with earnings that meet or exceed minimum wage. The average wage for people placed in jobs in FY 2020 is $11.83 , but wages for persons placed in jobs range from $8.50 to $70.00 per hour. Goodwill is a CARF-accredited organization designed to serve individuals with the most significant disabilities. Our organization supports several programs across the State of Arkansas that range from youth and family services to reentry and support services for job seekers and have changed the lives of thousands of Arkansans each year.
Goodwill served 13,611 people and placed 4,812 people in employment. Our intensive programs continue to have great success, especially regarding job placement for programs for persons with disabilities (55%) and transitional employment (96%) success rate. Our programs include free financial coaching and a trade school entitled The Academy at Goodwill with industry-inspired courses leading to a certification or credential.
Disability programs are diverse to meet the many interests and abilities of individuals with disabilities who want to participate in a training program. Staff work with individuals to determine interests, skills, abilities, and any barriers to successful employment. Based on the individual's desire for employment, staff work with each to define an employment plan that details the activities, goals, and desired outcomes from the services provided by Goodwill. Whether the individual is looking for part-time or full-time work, or whether he or she is ready for independent employment or needs supported employment options, our staff work with the individual and his/her support network to determine the training schedule that meets the person's needs.
