The overall mission of the Justin Carr Wants World Peace Foundation is to promote and support world peace through education, mentorship, scholarship and heart health awareness.
WEBINARS (2): Good Grief: Confronting Systemic Racism On A Personal Level & Good Grief: How Do We Grow From Here? Justin Carr Wants World Peace Foundation (JCWWPF) sponsored two webinars centered around peace and healing. The first, titled "Good Grief: Confronting Systemic Racism On A Personal Level", was held on July 22, 2020 and was an interactive session on how to deal with today's issues, including the Covid-19 pandemic and systematic racism. Approximately 60 people were in attendance. In follow-up to the July webinar, a second webinar was held on August 31, 2020 titled, "Good Grief: How Do We Grow From Here?", & was co-sponsored with the non-profit organization, Ceeds Of Peace. This featured two of the individuals from the 1976 Rosedale Protest Video, where black teenagers growing up in a white neighborhood were confronted and taunted by other white teenagers. The webinar culminated with the moderators leading a discussion on an action plan on how we can grow from the civil unrest and establish peace. Approximately 100 people were in attendance.
STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS: Justin Carr Wants World Peace Foundation (JCWWPF) awarded six schoarshps in 2020 ranging from $20 to $1,000. $2,750 was awarded to three students evaluated and recommended by the JCWWPF Scholarship committee. A total of $50 was awarded to two students who competed in a JCWWPF Art Contest.
HARVARD-WESTLAKE SCHOOL / JUSTIN CARR FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS SWIM MEET: Annually Justin Carr's high school alma mater holds a swim meet in his honor. The Justin Carr Wants World Peace Foundation (JCWWPF), performed heart testing for 18 students on the night of the Event, held March 6, 2020. This screening can be an early indicator of any potential heart issues that a person could have.
