Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Mission of the County of Los Angeles Fire Museum is to (A) celebrate the history of American fire service and the contributions made to that history by the County of Los Angeles Fire Department, (B)employ the popularity of the fire service as a means to motivate our youth to learn various school topics by showing how those topics pertain to the fire service, (C) document and present the evolution, history and impact of fire-based EMS, (D)acquire artifacts, apparatus, photographs, documents and other materials which assist in the presentation of our history,(E)restore antique fire apparatus to accurately reflect their respective histories. The vision of The County of Los Angeles Fire Museum Association is to provide a world-class facility within which to celebrate our history, entertain through a fire service-themed restaurant and banquet facility, educate our visitors in the history of the fire service while promoting public safety.
The organization currently houses and restores antique fire equipment for show and display. The goal is to tell the history of the American Fire Service in general terms, while emphasizing the County of Los Angeles Fire Department's contributions to that history.
The organization maintains an insurance program for disabled or injured firemen.
