Organizations Filed Purposes: We work to increase the visibility and opportunities for women artists by providing free information and advice through our website, newsletters, and research projects; by collaborating with other non-profits on an annual international celebration of women artists called "Support Women Artists Now Day" ("SWAN Day"); and by serving as a fiscal sponsor for women-led arts projects.

Our mission is to increase the visibility and opportunities for women artists. We provide free information and advice to artists through our website and newsletters, and we help facilitate an annual international celebration called Support Women Artists Now Day/SWAN Day.

ONLINE RESOURCES, ALLIANCES WITH SISTER ORGANIZATIONS, AND FISCAL SPONSORSHIP: WomenArts provides a variety of free online services designed to increase the opportunities & visibility of women artists. We maintain a website with hundreds of pages of educational information for women artists. We publish free newsletters with articles about inspiring women artists around the world and links to research studies and funding information. Our newsletters are emailed to 8,500 subscribers world-wide and posted on social media where we have 11,000 followers. Since times are hard for small non-profits like ours, we are building alliances with other non-profits dedicated to women artists. We collaborate with StateraArts and other non-profits on an annual international celebration of women artists in all art forms called Support Women Artists Now Day or SWAN Day for short, which takes place during March (Women's History Month). During 2019-20 we provided funding to StateraArts to administer the SWAN Day calendar and publicity, and to 7 other groups that organized individual SWAN festivals. We also provided funding to the Women in the Arts & Media Coalition to support their free monthly newsletters listing funding and job opportunities for women in film, video, and theatre and their part-time administrator. We have one ongoing fiscal sponsorship for a woman who is doing research and writing as a cultural historian.
