Organizations Filed Purposes: Global Student Embassys mission is to empower young leaders to become environmental stewards, social innovators, and community leaders. In collaboration with international peers, students generate and implement powerful community-based solutions to shared ecological concerns.

North to South exchange: Each year, over 600 students from North America travel with GSE on action oriented exchange programs, engaging students directly in locally driven projects that demonstrate smallscale solutions to global health and environmental problems. In Nicaragua students support the development of Grow Biointensive MiniFarms at schools that serve as outdoor environmental classrooms and produce food for school lunches. In Ecuador, students support local ecoclubs in their efforts to reforest the surrounding community, planting approximately 25,000 trees per year. Students contextualize their work in a global environmental movement, and learn skills that they can take home to their own communities.

GSE EcoactionPrograms: GSE works in three global communities (USA, Nicaragua, andEcuador) engaging local students in year round education and action to address climate change, food security and ecological degradation. GSE's unique program facilitates project based learning rooted in solving urgent ecological problems. Annually, GSE works with over 3,000 high school, university students, as well as with educators, administrators and communities supporting their schools. We believe schools can be central hubs of community engagementby supporting student growth and leadership, families, business leaders, nonprofits, and other community members invest in the health and sustainability of the community for years to come.

South to North Exchange: Each January, scholarships enable student representatives from our partner communities to come to California to participate in our local exchange. Student ambassadors visit each of GSEs project sites and get involved with local students in the planning, maintenance, and expansion of projects. Students stay with host families and engage in activities focused on collaborative projects with GSE students in Northern California. GSE works to break stereotypes and remove cultural barriers through building friendships, working together and representing our local cultures. The exchange reunites friends, brings new momentum to local projects, and often is the first time that visiting students have been to another country.
