Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Jewish Community Center of the East Bay strengthens the Jewish and general community in our service area by providing a center for educational, cultural, recreational and social services in a Jewish environment in which all are welcome.
After School Child Care: The JCC of the East Bay serves over 500 children each year with elementary-school age after-school child care in four locations to support the needs of working families. Our vehicles pick up children at many local elementary schools and take them to the Berkeley or Oakland sites, while we provide on-site After-school services at two Schools in the Oakland Unified School District. Our after-school programs offer classes that build skills in creative arts and crafts, cooking, drama, music and dance in a safe, enriching environment. Supportive staff provide homework help and supervision of free play.
Early Childhood Education: The JCC of the East Bay serves over 70 children each year with high quality pre-school services for children from 2 to 5 years old. We offer part-day or full-day programs to serve the needs of working families. The JCC Preschool is a developmental program incorporating music, art, movement and the celebration of Jewish heritage and culture.
Summer Day Camp: JCC's Summer Camp serves over 300 children each summer with a fun, safe, exciting summer experience on a flexible schedule to meet the family's needs. Age appropriate activities challenge each child and build self-esteem, skills and independence.
