Organizations Filed Purposes:
SchoolCARE's activities are solely for the benefit of the Albany Unified School District.The organization raises money from the community to be used by AUSD to pay for specific classes and support services.
In our allocation to the Albany Unified School District for the 2019-2020 school year, SchoolCARE pledged $349,400 to Albany schools (a SchoolCARE record!!). This money will support all Albany students by funding:Albany Children's Center: Funding for the Gardening Coordinator and giving our kids a chance to play in the dirt and learn how plants grow;Cornell, Marin, and Ocean View Elementary Schools: Enrichment funding for Art, Dance and Chess instruction, Math Intervention hourly staff, the noon-time YMCA staff that structure physical activities and games, social & emotional hourly teaching and learning classroom support and the library tech position in every school library;Albany Middle School: Counseling funds that support 3 full-time counselors (a counselor dedicated to each school grade), and the full-time library tech position that ensures the library is open for students at lunch and for special programming;Albany High School: Funding for three elective sections to enhance student choice and flexibility, a portion of the Career and College Coordinator, and longer hours and programming at the library through the library technician position.
