Organizations Filed Purposes:
To fund and support our Haitian partner, Na Rive, in delivering critical programs for the development of Haitian children and their families.
Despite a challenging environment for the nonprofit sector given new tax laws and domestic politics, we managed to raise $508,326.06 in 2019. These funds helped provide thousands of meals to impoverished and malnourished children and families in Haiti, as well as support access to a K-12 quality education for students at the Fr. Jeri School in Ti Plas Kazo, Port-au-Prince. For the first time since opening its door, the Fr. Jeri School celebrated its first high school graduating class which achieved a higher than average pass rate compared to the national average. The What If Foundation also managed to go through a smooth leadership transition, with a change from our previous Executive Director Suzanne Alberga, who left the organization, to our current Interim Executive Director Catherine Lelong. We welcomed a new Board Member (Adeline Dougherty) and kept developing our fundraising capacity with the launch of a new website, brand identity, email marketing system and a new documentary video.
