Homeless Veterans of San Diego exists to put an end to homelessness among our veterans
HVSD provides individual advocacy, mentoring and a "hand up" approach to assist veterans in housing placement. HVSD serves homeless veterans willing to make a commitment to help themselves and work one on one with one of our advocates. We provide individualized advocacy and care to provide them resources and steps to get them the care and hope they need. We have seen great success in establishing trust, friendship, and positive interaction with our homeless veterans by meeting with regularly and individually helping them through the steps to end their own homelessness and regain pride, dignity and self-worth. To date, over 60 homeless veterans have been placed in housing.
