Organizations Filed Purposes: IQSP's mission is to advance drug development through instruction in and application of quantitative systems pharmacology

QSP-based research in drug development. Two postdoctoral researchers and a senior scientist worked on long-standing enigmas in drug delivery and intracellular transport with significant relevance to drug development. The research results were disseminated at the annual Experimental Biology meeting in abstracts entitled: Quantitative pharmacology of internalization, intracellular trafficking and gene silencing of siRNA; Quantitative pharmacology to interrogate mechanisms of lipoplex destabilization by serum proteins; Quantitative pharmacology of intercellular drug shuttle by exosomes; Polyanionic drugs reduce intracellular bioavailability and transfection efficiency of cationic siRNA lipoplex: quantitative pharmacology studies Quantitative systems pharmacology on combination gene-targeting therapyInhibition of exosome-mediated efflux produces synergy with paclitaxel

QSP instruction to graduate students.IQSP organized and gave a full lecture series for pharmaceutics graduate students at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center as part of a plan to restructure and modernize pharmaceutics graduate training in collaborating university programs

Symposium on quantitative systems pharmacology.Dr. Au, Founding Director of IQSP, organized a symposium at the annual Experimental Biology meeting to advance the understanding of the applications and benefits of quantitative systems pharmacology in drug development. The symposium drew a strong attendance of young and senior scientists with interest in drug development and related fields. No expenses were charged to IQSP.
