Organizations Filed Purposes: THE CONSERVANCY'S MISSION IS THE PROTECTION OF NATURAL RESOURCES THAT FORM THE CARMEL RIVER WATERSHED INCLUDING THREATENED SPECIES OF STEELHEAD AND CALIFORNIA RED-LEGGED FROGS. THE CONSERVANCY BALANCES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND THE DIVERSE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY.

CRWC Highlights 2019-20- Made progress on a solution to the erosion of the Scenic Road bluffs and flooding in the Carmel River Lagoon- Made progress on installing a pharmaceutical dropoff location in Carmel Valley- Completed the transition to a new Executive Director- Developed a virtual celebration to ensure the continuance of the California Wildlife Day into 2021. Created a Website Digital Gallery in order to still highlight the student science, art, and poetry celebrating California animals and environments for the students wanting to participate in 2020 when a live event was not possible.- Collaborated on several wildfire prevention and planning initiatives with other area groups including RCDMC's Forest Health Coordinator to prevent wildfire spread and plan evacuation routes.- Completed the first iteration of the Carmel River Watershed health report card to identify areas that need to be prioritized for management by the 2020 Carmel River Task Force Action Plan.
