Organizations Filed Purposes:
Terra Marine Research & Education, (TMRE), was incorporated in 1986 to conduct research and education in the marine sciences and related fields. TMRE seeks funding and provides logistical support for groups and individuals engaged in projects designed to further our understanding of marine, island, and coastal ecosystems, as well as projects designed to minimize impact and enhance responsible utilization of natural resources.
TMRE has partnered with the Santa Cruz Island Foundation and The Nature Conservancy to maintain 5 historical museums on Santa Cruz Island; and one historic ranch site (Del Norte), for Channel Islands National Park. TMRE is also partnering to build the Channel Islands Center in Carpinteria, CA: A premier research and education center for all the California Channel Islands.
Terra Marine Research & Education, (TMRE), continued the following program services in Mexico: Assistance to local environmental non-profit groups Assistance with International Partnership with Channel Islands National Park and Bay of Loreto National Park Assistance with animal control, spay & neuter programs in Loreto,BCS
TMRE continues to sponsor the NO Child Left Inside Floating Classroom Program, and provided funding for 165 school children from local schools to participate this year
