TAVA Maintenance Services TAVA provides the property owners within the district enhanced maintenance services beyond what the City provides to the public right of way, public landscape, upgraded lighting, as well as graffiti abatement. Advertising & Promotion Beginning in March 2020, activities sponsored by the Third Avenue Village Association for the promotion of the business district were halted due to the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic. The TAVA Board of Directors voted to engage the professional services of a marketing and public relations firm to promote the Village and its members to the County of San Diego. As mandates changed typical behavior, TAVA was able to engage the community through major social media platforms and to promote delivery and outdoor dining for its members as well as to close Third Avenue to vehicle traffic during Sundays in August for outdoor dining and public walking. The expenses associated with the professional firm and outdoor signage was $37,500.
Sundays on Third In August TAVA sponsored the closure of Third Avenue to vehicle traffic for five Sundays to promote outdoor dining as well as pedestrian walking, bike riding, and non-motorized childrens scooters. With barricades and security, these five Sundays provided a breath of fresh air during the pandemic and its limitations on gathering. The cost to host the five Sundays was $20,249 which excludes payroll.
