We try to instill in each young performer the highest professional standards in discipline, taking responsibility, and attitude -- toward their work and toward each other, so that each KAROUSEL KID acquires new self-respect and self confidence.
TO ENCOURAGE EACH AND EVERY KAROUSEL KID TO INCREASE THEIR SKILLS, TO EXPAND THEIR KNOWLEDGE, AND GROW AS INDIVIDUALS AS THEY REACH FOR THEIR FULLEST POTENTIAL, BY INSTILLING HIGHEST PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS IN DISCIPLINE, TAKING RESPONSIBILITY, AND ATTITUDE IN EACH YOUNG PERFORMER.
The past year was another productive one for Karousel Kids, Inc. Our summer production auditions brought approximately 200 young people from the ages of 3 to 24 to sing and dance four our 4 show run of "Cinemagic", a musical review. Once again the show had a full orchestra accompaniment and everyone greatly enjoyed The Bonita Center of the Arts, San Dimas, CA. As always, our cast included children of all agesm some with disabilities and some with health-related issues. The children progressed rapidly and grew in many ways as they learned to sing, dance and act beginning with audtions in January, leading up to a spectacular opening night in July. Once again, closing night brought tears for many of the cast members as they would not see some of their friends again until next Karousel Kids' performance. (The group attracts young people from a large geographic area and many of the cast members become friends and stay friends only through organizational activities.)The Touring Group of Karousel Kids journeyed to London and recorded at the London Symphony Orchestra Abbey Road Studios in August. Our plans for our summer 2020 production are "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", to open in mid July at The Bonita Center for the Arts in San Dimas, CA.
