Organizations Filed Purposes:
Peace4Kids is dedicated to empowering foster and at-risk youth by providing community as family. We create a strong foundation through programs focused on creative expression and life skills, allowing our kids to discover their unique voice and limitless potential for success.
Last year, Peace4Kids served 89 new youth participants, a 19% increase from the previous year. Our most important metrics relate to the depth of youth engagement and consistency of participation, with youth attending more frequently compared to the previous year (+6% in youth attendance) and availing themselves of a deeper engagement (+14% in attending at least 1x per month). Peace4Kids expanded its youth-led advocacy by serving over 50 teens and transition-age youth and young adults impacted by foster care. "Changing the Narrative" was a youth-initiated effort that was advanced last year. This research and systems-change initiative seeks to identify implicit bias toward youth and alumni of foster care and to redress it within the education and social services sectors.
