EXPLORE JOB ENRICHMENT: A JOB AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM WHERE PAID EMPLOYEES OPERATE CAMERAS PLACED REMOTELY ACROSS THE WORLD THAT CAPTURES WILDLIFE IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT. EMPLOYEES RECEIVED SOCIAL MEDIA, VIDEO AND PHOTO EDITING, AND ON-THE-JOB LEADERSHIP TRAINING.
NEW EARTH YOUTHBUILD: NEW EARTH IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SIATECH CHARTER SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE OUR YOUTH WITH THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A FULL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. BY ENGAGING STUDENTS THROUGH A RELATIONSHIP-FOCUSED LEARNING EXPERIENCE WE HELP OUR YOUTH OVERCOME INDIVIDUAL OBSTACLES, AS WELL AS THE SYSTEMATIC BARRIERS THAT CONFRONT EACH OF THEM. OUR STUDENTS ARE EMPOWERED AND PREPARED FOR FUTURE SUCCESS THANKS TO THE FIRM FOUNDATION GAINED AT OUR NEW EARTH CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL. THE WORK WE DO WITH YOUNG PEOPLE WOULD BE INCOMPLETE WITHOUT MUCH-NEEDED FULL WRAP-AROUND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AND TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE THAT RESPONDS TO THE NEEDS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL. OUR TEAM OF PROFESSIONALS LED BY A LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER (LCSW), BEGIN THE PROCESS WITH A FULL ASSESSMENT OF EACH YOUNG PERSON, IDENTIFYING RISK FACTORS AND UNCOVERING ANY ROADBLOCKS THAT MIGHT STAND IN THE WAY OF OUR YOUNG PERSON'S SUCCESS. WE REALIZE THAT MANY OF OUR YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE LIFE CHALLENGES THAT CAN KEEP THEM FROM SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THEIR GOALS AND ACHIEVING THEIR DREAMS. TO ADDRESS THESE BARRIERS, NEW EARTH PROVIDES A VARIETY OF SUPPORTIVE SERVICES THAT HELP OUR YOUTH GET ON THEIR FEET, STAND TALL AND REACH FOR THE SKY. SOME OF THE SERVICES YOUTH RECEIVE ONCE ENROLLED AT THE NEW EARTH ARTS & LEADERSHIP CENTER.
TRANSFORMATIVE CAREER INSTITUTE: NEW EARTH AND THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY PROBATION DEPARTMENT HAS EMBARKED UPON A NEVER BEFORE IN HISTORY CONVERSION OF A CLOSED YOUTH DETENTION CAMP INTO AN OPEN-CAMPUS VOLUNTARY RESIDENTIAL CAREER-TRAINING CENTER, WITH A COMMITTED PIPELINE TO MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT. THIS THREE-YEAR PILOT PROGRAM WILL INCLUDE PARTNERS FROM THE L.A. COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY DEPARTMENTS, PHILANTHROPIC FOUNDATIONS, AND COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS TO REPURPOSE THE FACILITY FROM A DETENTION CAMP INTO A TRAUMA-INFORMED RESIDENTIAL EMPLOYMENT AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING CENTER. THE TRANSFORMATIVE CAREER INSTITUTE IS AN INNOVATIVE THERAPEUTIC LEARNING ENVIRONMENT WHERE PARTICIPANTS DEVELOP INTERPERSONAL, LIFE, LEADERSHIP AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE SKILLS, WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY COMPLETING CAREER TRAINING IN ONE OF THREE TRACKS - CONSTRUCTION, CULINARY ARTS, AND TECHNOLOGY. THIS MODEL WILL SERVE AS THE PILOT INITIATIVE AS THE COUNTY REPURPOSES DEACTIVATED JUVENILE CAMPS AND LOOKS FOR WAYS TO SERVE AND REHABILITATE HIGH-NEED RESIDENTS AND PROPEL TRANSITIONAL AGE YOUTH TO SUCCESS. THIS PROGRAM WILL BE A TRUE BEACON OF TRANSFORMATION AS A FACILITY ITSELF AND FOR THE PARTICIPANTS WHO ATTEND THE PROGRAM, THEIR FAMILIES AND FOR THE COMMUNITIES.
