JUNIOR LEAGUE OF OAKLAND-EAST BAY (JLOEB) PROMOTES VOLUNTARISM, DEVELOPS THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN, AND IMPROVES COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE EFFECTIVE ACTION AND LEADERSHIP OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS. IT IS EXCLUSIVELY EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE.
Philanthropy, volunteerism, and grantmaking programs: We awarded grants to non-profit agencies in Alameda or Contra Costa County that support women and children in need. We also continued our successful done-in-a-day projects where we volunteered with other nonprofit agencies.
Volunteer training and placement programs: We provided training to members, which is relevant to our mission of developing the potential of women. Trainings included a training sponsored by the American Junior Leagues International on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; leadership trainings with other Junior League chapters; a training on non-profit advocacy; and a training on Wills and Trusts.
Civil Rights, social action and advocacy programs: Along with other Junior League chapters, we advocated for State legislation relevant to five focus areas: human trafficking prevention, violence prevention, health, education, and family support.
