FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR CANCER PATIENTS TO DEFRAY THE COSTS OF FDA APPROVED CLINICAL TRIALS.

LAZAREX HELPS PATIENTS NAVIGATE THEIR CLINICAL TRIAL OPTIONS AND PROVIDES COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND OUTREACH SERVICES. SPECIFICALLY: LAZAREX HELPS PATIENTS OF ALL AGES AND WALKS OF LIFE WITH ALL FORMS OF CANCER. LAZAREX HELPS PATIENTS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MEDICAL BREAKTHROUGHS TODAY BECAUSE THEY MAY NOT HAVE A TOMORROW. LAZAREX BELIEVES THAT THE SIZE OF A PATIENT'S CHECKBOOK SHOULD NOT STAND BETWEEN THEM AND THE CHOICES THEY MAKE OR THE TREATMENTS THEY NEED. LAZAREX PROVIDES RESOURCES TO FILL THE GAP THAT EXISTS BETWEEN WHEN A PATIENT IS TOLD THERE IS NO MORE HOPE AND WHEN THEY ARE TRULY DONE WITH THEIR JOURNEY IN LIFE.

THE SERVICES OF VOLUNTEERS ARE AN INDISPENSABLE PART OF THE ORGANIZATION'S PROGRAM ACTIVITIES. VARIOUS INDIVIDUALS CONTRIBUTED THEIR TIME WHICH RESULTED IN 3,342 VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR THE YEAR ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2019. WHILE SIGNIFICANT, THE VALUE OF THIS CONTRIBUTED TIME IS NOT REFLECTED IN THE TAX RETURN BECAUSE IT IS NOT SUSCEPTIBLE TO OBJECTIVE MEASUREMENT OR VALUATION AND THEREFORE DID NOT MEET THE CRITERIA FOR RECOGNITION UNDER ASC 958.605.30-11 "REVENUE RECOGNITION OF NOT-FOR-PROFIT ENTITIES."

SINCE 2006, LAZAREX HAS ASSISTED OVER 5,000 PATIENTS WITH FINDING CLINICAL TRIAL OPTIONS AND REIMBURSING THE OUT-OF-POCKET TRAVEL COSTS OF PARTICIPATION IN A TRIAL. THE IMPACT PROGRAM (IMPROVING PATIENT ACCESS TO CANCER CLINICAL TRIALS) BEGAN 2 YEARS AGO WITH A GOAL OF SUSTAINABLY IMPROVING CLINICAL TRIAL ENROLLMENT, RETENTION, DIVERSITY, AND CREATING A PLATFORM OF EQUITABLE ACCESS. IMPACT IS FINALLY GAINING SUPPORT FROM FUNDERS AND WE RECEIVED LARGE GRANTS THIS YEAR RESTRICTED TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE IMPACT PROGRAM IN TEXAS AND IN PHILADELPHIA THAT WILL BE APPLIED TO THE PROGRAM OVER THE NEXT 3 YEARS.DANA DORNSIFE IS THE FOUNDER AND BOARD CHAIR OF LAZAREX. SHE AND HER HUSBAND DAVID CONTRIBUTED $505,393 TO LAZAREX DURING THE YEAR ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2019, WHICH COVERED MORE THAN 100% OF ALL GENERAL & ADMINISTRATIVE AND FUNDRAISING EXPENSES. ACCORDINGLY, ALL DONOR CONTRIBUTIONS RECEIVED FROM OTHER SOURCES WERE USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR PROGRAM-RELATED EXPENSES.
