DVNHA supports education, preservation and scientific research in Death Valley National Park and Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge.

Death Valley Natural History Association (DVNHA) provided Staffing and aid for Death Valley National Park and Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. During the fiscal year this included the repair to Scotty's Castle Chimes Tower and transportation grants for the Death Valley R.O.C.K.S. (Recreation Outdoors Campaign for Kids through Study) Program that included 2,080 diverse K-12 students from 30 schools (some classified as Title 1 schools) with twenty-four in-person classroom visits and thirty-five field trips to Death Valley National Park. DVNHA also provided funding to keep the Furnace Creek Visitor Center open during the December 2018 - January 2019 government shutdown.
The DVNHA Field Institute/Road Scholar Outdoor Education Program provided transportation and subject matter experts for 21 individual program accounting for 7,079 hours of education programming to 471 participants. The programs included hiking, geology, photography, and human history.
DVNHA maintained inventories and engage in sales of educational and interpretive products to visitors at the Furnace Creek Visitor Center, Stovepipe Wells Ranger Station, and Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. DVNHA provided 16,640 hours of service to 113,000+ visitors at all locations.
