The Association for Mass Spectrometry: Applications to the Clinical Laboratory (MSACL), Inc. was formed in order to facilitate discussion and education regarding the applications of mass spectrometry (MS). This is partially achieved by the holding of annual conferences. The current focus of the organization is the application of MS to the analysis of clinical samples. In the future, the organization may include other points of focus that relate to mass spectrometry. The MSACL 2017 EU congress held September 10-14, 2017 in Salzburg, Austria hosted 74 podium presentations, 20 Exhibitors, 8 short courses, and 104 posters of scientific content relating to clinical mass spectrometry. This congress successfully brought together 421 attendees for the purpose of facilitating discussion and education regarding the application of mass spectrometry.The MSACL 2018 US conference held January 21-25, 2018 in Palm Springs, CA hosted 145 podium presentations, 47 Exhibitors, 19 short courses, and 182 posters of scientific content relating to clinical mass spectrometry. This conference successfully brought together 822 attendees for the purpose of facilitating discussion and education regarding the application of mass spectrometry.
