Our mission is to document, preserve, and celebrate regional roots music and its makers. By our activities, we seek to broaden public awareness of our diverse music history, support the vitality of living traditions, and reinforce the value and sustainability of community-based cultures.
Frontera Project: Digitally preserving the Frontera Collection of Mexican and American American Recordings, in partnership with UCLA's Digital Library and Chicano Studies Resaerch Center.

Emerging Projects -- In 2019 I think emerging projects included a public event around publication of the historic book "Blues Come To Texas", and a grant to support publication of the forthcoming photgraphy book by Robert Stone documenting hte Sacred Steel gospel tradition. Oster Project - Digitally Preserving historic collection of field recordings by the late folklorist Harry Oster.
Strachwitz Archive: Cataloging, preserving, digitizing, and curating various collections gathered by Chris Strachwits and related to his life's work documenting American roots music: photographs, videos, audio recordings, posters, papers, etc. Benefit concert -- Public concert to benefit the Arhoolie Foundation where we present the annual Arhoolie Awards (est. 2018).
