Balanced Rock Foundation provides enriching educational programs, service opportunities and wilderness journeys to participants who wish to foster individual well-being and healthy living. We provide a forum to practice and cultivate personal balance, inspire compassion in action and strengthen one's connection with the natural world, community and environment. This enhances participants' experiences of Yosemite and provides them with valuable tools to bring back to their communities.

Balanced Rock inspires health and well-being through deep connection to nature and spirit. We offer Yosemite journeys for mind, body and spirit. One of our main objectives is to slow down, unplug, and connect with the rhythms of the natural world. Each of our unique programs offers tools to remember how to do this through yoga classes and trainings, meditation, quiet hikes, reflective journaling, and campfire sharing. We ran 15 courses as well as bi-weekly classes throughout the year, bringing an opportunity to both locals and visitors from around the world to connect with nature and wellness practices. Included in the course offerings was the Women of Color Wilderness Program which provides a space for this underrepresented group to receive education around, access to and nourishment from Yosemite's Wilderness while exploring issues of social and environmental justice and stewardship. Bi-weekly, we provide community service of donation-based yoga classes taught by our staff and certified volunteers, as well as a 6 week series of yoga and mindfulness classes in the local K-8 public school. To further its outreach and fulfill its mission, Balanced Rock offers tuition assistance for all of its courses.
