Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Institute supports artists in development of new projects through a residency program and shares their discoveries with scholars, art patrons, and regional and national audience. The Institute also educates and engages the community to foster an appreciation of the living artist and creative process.
Lux Art Institute believes that visual art educates, inspires, and transforms its viewers.
Education Program Lux provides educational resources both on and off campus. Our on-campus programming includes art classes and workshops that reach hundreds of students per year and focus on practices including Ceramics, Painting Drawing, Sculpture, Art History, and STEAM classes. Youth programs reach students age 4-18, while adults classes are for all ages 18. The Valise program is an off-campus program that brings museum quality art to schools in San Diego County to provide art enrichment through common core. The Aging Creatively program provides educational art tours and activities to seniors 55. Supplementary educational programs and events reach broader audiences through lectures, tours, demonstrations, and performances.
Other programs include Membership, Program Rentals, Art Gallery, Special Events, and Artist Residencies.
