Wells Fargo Home for the Holidays, December 8, 2018 Sacramento Community Center TheaterSome 2,800 patrons joined us to celebrate the season. WE ONCE AGAIN ADDED A SECOND PERFORMANCE a 2 PM Matinee. This was a real crowd pleaser.The large 150-member SCSO Chorus was joined by the 40-voice Sacramento Children's Chorus Lynn Stevens, Conductor, our 50-member professional Orchestra, Soprano Susannah biller Santa Claus, a Women's Barbershop Quartet and Puppets from Green Valley Theater all conducted by Donald Kendrick. The amazing audience sing-along lifted the roof off of the Sacramento Community Center Theater and it was our pleasure to have 100 Veterans as our Guests (with their families). KVIE PARTNERSHIP We received some great television coverage by partnering with KVIE and their Donors of these 2 programs.PARTNERSHIP WITH MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATIONWe added meaning to our 2 large-scale event by collaborating with 2 amazing young children from the Make-A-Wish Foundation: Two young talented Make-A-Wish singers joined us on stage in the Chorus for both halves of the concert.
European Masterworks Brahms Requiem Sacramento Community Center Theater Saturday, March 23, 20191600 Arts Supporters joined us at this rousing performance of the Brahms Requiem with works by Ralph Vaughan Williams (Five Mystical Songs) and Edward Elgar (Serenade for Strings in E Minor. Dr. Donald Kendrick provided the pre-concert talk and the program enjoyed well-crafted supertitle translations that added a great deal of joy and understanding for the patrons attending the performance. The 2 professional outstanding soloists were Carrie Hennessey, Soprano and Trevor Scheunemann, Baritone. The post-concert reception in the lobby was electric.
