The Broadband Forum charts the future of communication networks, which are improving lifestyles throughout the world. In 2019 we accomplished the following:Progressed over 100 projects: working texts (WTs) and marketing drafts (MD).Approved 35 technical reports (TRs). 12 active software projects with several major and minor releases.
The Forum has continued to grow and expand an event series called BASe. The intention of these events is to provide attendees with thought leadership on what is being created for Broadband operators and users alike, to solve problems and increase opportunities. The Forum works to highlight new technologies that help operators and vendors to deliver high value services across the whole broadband ecosystem.
During 2019 the Broadband Forum continued to develop our online Collaborative tools and published a new website.Lastly the Forum is actively working to bridge the gap between standards development and open source projects by progressing our Open Broadband (OB) projects. OB software projects seek to develop reference implementations of broadband standards. OB Labs are a collaborative industry resource space for the integration and testing of open source, standards-based and vendor provided implementations.
