Math Science Nucleus provides science and math curriculum to help educators provide high quality materials, free online. Our mission is to increase science and math especially in K-12 grades and public. We also maintain an environmental center that provides free fields trips throughout Alameda County (Tule Ponds at Tyson Lagoon) and we manage Children's Natural History Museum, Fremont Earthquake , California Nursery Historical Park archives and museum. We are partners in a Masonic Home Reforestation and Compost project.
Manage Tule Ponds at Tyson Lagoon, Fremont a 17 acre wetlands for tours, volunteer, public education and field trips (in person and virtual), manage Masonic Home Composting and Reforestation project in Union City, CA. We also continue work with high school students on learning about collecting and interpreting data in environmental science. We also grow trees for different environmental programs we sponsor in southern Alameda county. We coordinate volunteer programs for public and schedule days for corporate companies that want to help the environment.
Provides science and math curriculum through online, field trips, virtual classes online. Develop curriculum and put online for English speaking schools; Develop storybooks and slides for children and teachers. We are working on transferring electronic materials which are free for all into html5 so can be viewed. We also are working with schools on developing materials for virtual platforms.
Maintain children's Natural History Museum including fossils and artifacts from local area; Maintain California Nursery Historical Park Museum; maintain Earthquake Exhibit in Fremont. This year we provided virtual classes to over 10,000 children throughout the local community working with different school districts. We also continued archiving at the California Nursery Historical Park and summited film and photos to California Archive, so other people can use our collections. Because of covid the museum was physically closed, but we continued helping schools through virtual field trips.
