Teach skills and provide equipment to support learning in a community makerspace.

Makerspace workshop - Shop areas provided with a full range of tools for wood, metal, welding, glass, ceramics, electronics, textiles, and robotics. The workshop provided access to tools and space for the practice of industrial and fine arts for our Educational programs, membership, and community members. Approximately 325 students and members made use of the facilities. Membership numbers fluctuate; on average 120 paying members at any time, half of those are veterans, seniors, and full-time students that receive a substantial discount (over $14000 in discounts give during 2019). The makerspace is run solely by volunteers (though some instructors are paid). A direct donation of $1500 was received for the purchase of 3D printers and other modern fabrication equipment and supplies.

Public classes are offered in the same disciplines as listed above for the Makerspace. Classes are hands-on concentrated courses that provide the student with skills and confidence to continue on to more advanced work for hobby or career. There were 184 students in Public classes. Those students that were not members, returned with a free month of membership to practice their skills and increase their proficiency (over $4200 in free monthly memberships awarded in 2019). Free drop-in focus nights (open to the public) were also offered (Metal Mondays, Tech Tuesdays, Wooly Wednesdays, 3D Thursdays, Sawdust Sundays).

Private classes are offered to organizations in the disciplines of their choosing. These are often enrichment classes for elementary to secondary students or any outside organization that wants a class designed for their particular program. Students gain confidence and skills to inspire them to explore available careers in industrial arts. Sessions were held for charter schools in 3D printing, sewing, robotics, woodworking, ceramics, bike repair, and skateboard making. Small groups rotated so that each received more individual instruction. A special 13-week welding intensive class was held at no cost to the five students, which gave them the skills to accelerate them to a profession in the welding trades.
