H.O.P.E.S ONE-STOP SAFETY NET IN GARDEN GROVE SERVES WOMEN, CHILDREN AND ASSOCIATED FAMILIES IN CRISIS THROUGHOUT ORANGE COUNTY. MANY OF THE PEOPLE WHO COME TO H.O.P.E. FOR ASSISTANCE ARE FACING THE IMPOSSIBLE DECISION OF PAYING THEIR RENT OR FEEDING THEIR CHILDREN. IN 2020, IN THE MIDST OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, H.O.P.E. NEVER STOPPED AND IN FACT INCREASED THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE SERVED. WE PICKED UP, INVENTORIED, STORED AND DISTRIBUTED MORE THAN 450,000 POUNDS OF FOOD, HYGIENE PRODUCTS AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS, SERVING MORE THAN 8,650 PEOPLE. THIS RESULTED IN AN IMMEDIATE IMPROVEMENT FOR THESE WOMEN'S AND CHILDRENS PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND FINANCIAL HEALTH. IF A CHILD IS CLOTHED, FED AND CLEAN, HE OR SHE CAN CONCENTRATE BETTER IN SCHOOL, AND HAVE A GREAT FEELING OF SECURITY AND SELF-WORTH. HAVING MET THEIR BASIC NEEDS, THROUGH INTAKE AND CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES, H.O.P.E. HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE CLIENTS NUMEROUS LINGERING ISSUES AND CHALLENGES. THESE SERVICES HAVE ALLOWED THESE FAMILIES TO MOVE TOWARD SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND BREAK THE CYCLE OF GENERATIONAL POVERTY.
