PADRES UNIDOS IS A GRASS ROOTS COMMUNITY SUPPORT SYSTEM DEDICATED TO FOSTERING SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND MUTUAL RESPONSIBILITY. OUR COMMITMENT TO ALL FAMILIES IS TO CULTIVATE EDUCATION, EMOTIONAL, SPIRITUAL, SOCIAL, PHYSICAL, AND MENTAL HEALTH GROWTH.
EARLY EDUCATION:Children attending Padres Unidos early education modules continue to thrive. Over 82% of children participating in our Early Education modules begin kindergarten prepared socially and academically for the rigors of a formal education. Our participants demonstrated significant gains of all measurable outcomes over the duration of our programming, including: 65% of parents demonstrating applying new parenting skills, 88% of parents demonstrating improvement in parenting strategies, and we had over 100 child graduates from our program. Our success came from our dedicated outreach which encouraged an 75% attendance rate over the term.
STRONG FAMILIES:Statistical analyses performed in collaboration with the OC Probation Department evidenced that after parent participation in the Padres Unidos Education Program, not only were there fewer new law violation arrests among youth but fewer serious offenses. 64% of all new law violation arrests among youth six months prior to parent participation in the Parent Education Program were for felony offenses. However, In the 6-month period following parent involvement in the Padres Unidos Program, the portion of felony offenses dropped to 29%.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:As part of our Community Engagement initiative we had the honor of providing Community Worker support to our vulnerable and at-risk families. During this year we were able to provide over 20,000 Outreach & Support services to over 1,500 families.
