Organizations Filed Purposes: The Central Valley Health Foundation (CVHF) is a California not-for-profit corporation. The Foundation was organized to coordinate the solicitation of contributions through its operations and to disburse such contributions, earnings, and the income to support Hanford Community Hospital and Western Health Resources. The special fundraising events provide opportunity for interaction and involvement between community members, community leaders, Hanford Community Hospital and the Foundation.

The Central Valley Health Foundation (CVHF) supports the healthcare mission of Hanford Community Hospital and Western Health Resources by raising awareness of the hospitals' services in the greater community through its fundraising efforts.

The Central Valley Health Foundation provided financial support for the Central Valley Network, which includes Adventist Health Hanford, Adventist Health Reedley, Adventist Health Tulare and their related clinics. In addition, support is being provided for the hospice operated by Western Health Resources (WHR)and for other humanitarian purposes.Central Valley Health Foundation also receives donations from Adventist Health Central Valley Network employees to benefit the Employee Emergency Fund. This fund was created to benefit employees during a financial hardship. Employees can receive up to $500 in financial assistance.In 2019, over $16,000 was disbursed to 35 employees. Each year, the Employee Emergency Fund committee finds itself in shock over the needs some of the employees have. A simple example of assistance in a prior year was for an employee and family who were living out of their vehicle. The request was simple, they just wanted gas money and a Wal-Mart gift card to purchase food and toiletries.Other examples of needs that continue to come through are for employees who have sudden family deaths and need help with funeral costs. Other common needs are when an employees spouse is suddenly laid off and now the employee becomes the sole provider for a family of four or five. The Foundation is honored with the ability to help pay for unexpected bills in a time of need. This is one way in which the Foundation lives the mission of Adventist Health by sharing Gods love.Another way the Foundation impacts the community is that it receives a variety of household goods through its partnership with World Vision, and connects these goods with more than 120 nonprofit community partners that can distribute them directly to families in need.During 2019 the Foundation received goods valued at $1,243.698. This entailed 27 semi-truck shipments to both the Hanford and Reedley warehouses. Over 43,000 individuals benefited from these goods provided free to them. We have been blessed to provide diapers, personal items, furniture and house items to those re-establishing their life after a tough economic situation.Some examples include:1. Selma Community Outreach Ministries was provided with snacks, tents and sleeping bags for the homeless and furniture for families being housed.2. St Anthony's Catholic Church and LifeHouse Valley Church, both in Reedley received rugs, and or couches and snacks for their children and youth.3. The Avenal Rotary Club received canopies and ice chests to help with their community food distributions.
