TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO AT RISK YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES TO ENSURE OPPORTUNITY AND ENHANCE THEIR FUTURE.
PREVENTIONOUR PREVENTION PROGRAM FAMILIES ABLE TO RESOLVE SITUATIONS (FARS) IS DESIGNED FOR YOUTH AT RISK OF ENTERING THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM OR AS AN INTERVENTION IN LIEU OF PUNITIVE CONSEQUENCES SUCH AS SUSPENSION/EXPULSION. THE FARS PROGRAM CONTINUES TO EMPOWER FAMILIES TO STRENGTHEN THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH ONE ANOTHER AND LEARN POSITIVE COMMUNICATION SKILLS. THE PROGRAM PROVIDED SUPPORT TO 115 FAMILIES, WITH THE SUPPORT OF COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS, 30 VOLUNTEERS WERE TRAINED AS FARS MEDIATORS.DIVERSION AND RESTORATIVE JUSTICEOUR PROGRAM INTERVENES AT THE POINT OF ARREST AND/OR BEFORE COURT PROCESSING TO DIVERT YOUTH OUT OF THE JUSTICE SYSTEM AND INTO MORE EFFECTIVE TREATMENT AND INTERVENTION. UTILIZING EVIDENCE-BASED RESTORATIVE JUSTICE AND COMPREHENSIVE CLINICAL CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES, THE PROGRAM KEEPS THE RECORDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE CLEAN SO THEIR FUTURE IS NOT DERAILED BY A MISTAKE IN THEIR YOUTH. THE VICTIM OFFENDER RESTITUTION SERVICES(VORS) PROGRAM CONDUCTED 193 MEDIATIONS WHILE HAVING A 90% NON-RE-OFFENSE SUCCESS RATE AFTER 1 YEAR OF COMPLETING THE VORS PROGRAM. THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION ON MONETARY RESTITUTIONS OF PARTICIPATING YOUTH TO THEIR VICTIMS IS 166 TIMES HIGHER THAN YOUTH GOING THROUGH THE NORMAL JUSTICE PROCESS. AND WITH FURTHER CLINICAL CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES (ERJC) PROVIDED TO HIGH RISK YOUTH, EACH YOUTH ON AVERAGE RECEIVED 44 HOURS OF FACE TO FACE INTERVENTION THROUGHOUT THEIR 3 - 6 MONTHS OF SERVICE.TRAINING DIVISIONIN OUR CONTINUOUS EFFORTS TO INFORM AND ENCOURAGE PARTNERING AGENCIES TO REFER YOUTH TO THE PROGRAMS MENTIONED ABOVE, IN LIEU OF RETRIBUTIVE PRACTICES AND POLICIES WITHIN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE AND EDUCATION SYSTEMS, CYS PROVIDES CUSTOMIZED TRAININGS INTRODUCING RESTORATIVE PRACTICES, BRAIN SCIENCE AND WHAT WORKS TO SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE TO MEET THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. SOME OF THE COMPONENTS OF OUR TRAININGS ARE: RESTORATIVE JUSTICE OVERVIEW, UNDERSTANDING YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, TRAUMA AND ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES AS RELATED TO DELINQUENCY, RESILIENCE FACTOR, AND EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES TO REDUCE RECIDIVISM, SCHOOL LEADERSHIP STYLES, AND DE-ESCALATION STRATEGIES IN SCHOOLS. OVERALL, OUR TRAINING REACHED 740 TRAINEES ACROSS LAW ENFORCEMENT, SCHOOL DISTRICTS, AND JUVENILE-JUSTICESYSTEM OFFICIALS.
