OUR MISSION IS TO BRING TOGETHER HEALDSBURG PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND ITS GENEROUS COMMUNITY TO PROMOTE AND INVEST IN PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES THAT HAVE THE GREATEST IMPACT ON STUDENT LEARNING AND THAT HELP PREPARE ALL OF OUR K-12 STUDENTS FOR COLLEGE, CAREER, AND CITIZENSHIP.
HEALDSBURG EDUCATION FOUNDATION (HEF) RAISES FUNDS FROM HEALDSBURG COMMUNITY MEMBERS AS WELL AS INSTITUTIONS TO SUPPORT THE HEALDSBURG PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS. HEF SELECTS PROGRAMS TO FUND THAT WILL SERVE THE GREATEST NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN THE MOST EQUITABLE MANNER, WITH A FOCUS ON INITIATIVES THAT PROMOTE COLLEGE AND CAREER SUCCESS.
Funding Priorities: Vital 21st Century Education Programs including:Parent Outreach & Engagement Coordinators: These individuals serve all four Healdsburg public schools, offering bilingual services to all HUSD families. They act as a communication bridge between the schools, teachers and families, hold parent informational and educational meetings, assist in translating during parent/teacher and counselor meetings, and connect families with needed resources, including food, internet, legal aid and more. SOEL Advisor: SOEL stands for Supporting Our English Learners. The advisor position ensures that students who have been reclassified as fluent English proficient are staying on track academically as they progress through their education. They also offer support in the form of connecting students with various resources, act as an intermediary between students and teachers if special circumstances need to be arranged, and reach out to parents when necessary for the benefit of the students overall academic and socio-emotional well-being. Junior Academic Internship Program: THIS PROGRAM IS A REQUIREMENT FOR ALL JUNIOR'S AT HEALDSBURG HIGH SCHOOL. IT IS AN AWARD WINNING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM THAT PREPARES STUDENTS FROM THE TIME THEY ENTER AS FRESHMAN TO DRAFT RESUMES AND COVER LETTERS, PRESENT THEMSELVES PROFESSIONALLY, AND SEEK OUT JOBS THAT INTEREST THEM. THE PROGRAM THEN PAIRS EACH STUDENT WITH A BUSINESS OR NONPROFIT OF THEIR CHOOSING, WHERE THEY INTERN FOR 3 WEEKS WITH A MENTOR IN THAT FIELD.ENRICHMENT COURSES FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS: HEF PROVIDES FUNDS FOR OUR K-5 STUDENTS TO EXPERIENCE A DIVERSE ARRAY OF ENRICHMENT COURSES SUCH AS YOGA,FITNESS, ROBOTICS, SCIENCE EXPLORATION, ART, MUSIC, CHESS, GARDENING, AND NUTRITION. THESE EARLY EXPERIENCES HELP TO IGNITE THEIR PASSIONS AND ENGAGE MORE DEEPLY IN THEIR EDUCATION.Paraprofessionals for K-1 Classrooms: Paraprofessionals are classroom assistants that support teachers to provide additional social-emotional support for our youngest students and also assist in supervision and instruction. These positions will be 3-hours a day for 5 days of the week.Meet the Masters: Meet the Masters is a K-2 art program that offers additional art enrichment each week focused on the fascinating lives and famous works of Master Artists. After learning the inspiration and techniques of each Master the children engage in a journey to create their own art, often in the same medium, style or subject matter as the Master.
MANAGED FUNDS: PROVIDED FUNDS FOR SCHOOL LIBRARIES, ART SUPPLIES, STEM COURSES, AND BOOKS FOR EACH SCHOOL'S LITTLE FREE LIBRARIES.
