Organizations Filed Purposes:
Corazon Healdsburg's mission is to bridge the racial and economic divide in Healdsburg. Corazon offers programs to improve health and wellbeing for all who live and work in Healdsburg through innovative partnerships and community driven programming.
FirstGen College Counseling program prepares historically underserved Healdsburg high school students to become the first in their families to complete college through comprehensive one-on-one support of the entire college application process. FirstGen improves educational equity for all students by increasing the four-year college attendance rate for students from low-income families. These students have self-identified as wanting to go to college, are taking honors and AP level courses and maintaining a college-track grade point average.
Corazon's Adult Education classes increase English fluency and educational attainment for adults in Healdsburg by offering classes at night for working adults and during the day. Our High School Equivalency preparation class allows adults to study for their high school diploma in Spanish. Classes are provided by Santa Rosa Junior College on-site at the Healdsburg Community Center and childcare is provided by Corazon Healdsburg.
Kinder 2College Program: Corazon establishes college savings accounts for every kindergarten student in the Healdsburg Public Schools. This program is used as a tool to encourage families to save towards post-secondary education with matched investment from the community at various stages. This data-informed program engages families and their kindergarten-age children to start thinking about their educational pathway and saving funds to achieve those goals.
