To serve those in need by sharing the saving grace of Jesus Christ through the provision of food, shelter, clothing and spiritual recovery.
The Mission is an oasis, a place of refuge for the homeless and needy in the Coachella Valley. It is a safe haven, a place of rest for the weary, and a place where daily physical and spiritual needs may be met.
The Mission provides temporary food and shelter for the homeless as well as job training and assistance finding permanent housing and employment. Clients who live at the Mission receive food and shelter and also participate in job training. The public also receives hot meals in our public breakfast/lunch/dinner services. Food boxes are also available. In 2019, the Mission served 264,419 meals for hungry and hurting men, women and children. Over 91,200 food boxes were distributed throughout the year which served over 99,264 people and 24,816 children in families who had to make the choice between food and rent. Over 214,665 bed-nights were provided. The mission was blessed with 21,072 hours of volunteer help from the community who helped meet these immense needs. With the 2019 grants for Housing, the Mission has assisted 86 people within 34 households into their own independent homes through case management for budgeting, preparing for their new home and follow up after placement, and the provision of rental deposits and first few months rent. The Mission also makes frequent outreach trips to homeless camps. In 2019, 74 outreach trips were made where we distributed 1,417 items of hygiene, food, water and encouraged 475 people to come to the Mission for program services.
