Organizations Filed Purposes: To provide ministries in church planting, training national leaders, short term missions, and providing ministry to the poor.

Church Planting Support - This major arm of our ministry is focused on the raising up of church planters and the planting of healthy gospel-centered churches who seek to exalt Jesus Christ and bless the communities in which they find themselves. In 2020, Compassion Connection specifically supported five church planters who are working in various regions of Ecuador. These planters/pastors are all evaluated through a very lengthy process to ensure that they are men of integrity, character, and a passion to see Christ's name proclaimed in Ecuador through local churches. Regular visits, phone calls and zoom sessions are made throughout the year to bring care and accountability to these pastors and planters.

Pastoral Leadership Training - The other major ministry arm of Compassion Connection is that of training pastors and church leaders in bible, theology, and practical church ministry. This is accomplished through a 3-year curriculum given in 9 modules of 3 classes each. It involves a one-week intensive training in which pastors and leaders meet in a venue which allows for sleeping, eating, and receiving classes. In 2020, due to COVID, we were unable to have the normal amount of these training events. Books and resources were purchased prior to making decisions to forego live training events in favor of a virtual approach. These events, both live and virtual, are very labor intensive for all of our staff as well as representing some of the greatest costs of the ministry. Last year we trained more than 75 pastors and leaders, offering them the three modules in either a "live" context or virtual.

Church Planting Partnership Program -One of the key aspects to Compassion Connection's emphasis on raising up church planters and planting local churches is that of creative partnerships. These partnerships are based primarily on a "relational" foundation through short-term team visits from partnering churches coming to their partner church for 5-7 days, helping with projects and encouragement both morally and spiritually. The short-term teams pay their own expenses and therefore are not a financial burden to either Compassion Connection or the Ecuadorian partnering church. Compassion Connection facilitates and invests time of their staff team and the coordination of all logistics while the team is in Ecuador. Much of the monthly support for the pastors and churches mentioned in the First Program Service Accomplishment comes from these relational bonds that are committed. Also, a great amount of Community Service work is done through the volunteers of these teams as they work with and through their local Ecuadorian church partner to bless the communities.
