Organizations Filed Purposes: Dedicated to promoting America's promise of equal opportunity for equal talent, YES identifies promising young students from low-income communities in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and rural Appalachian North Carolina and equips them with the (con Sch O) resources, support, and skills required for long term success. YES helps to reshape the landscapes of disadvantaged communities by empowering underserved students to embrace educational opportunities and to overcome socio-economic boundaries in order to make college and career success an attainable goal.

Educational inequality limits life choices, career options and income opportunity. For bright, ambitious students from under-resourced neighborhoods, a college degree represents a clear path out of the crippling cycle of poverty. But this potential is stifled by their circumstances: a lack of awareness, exposure, and opportunity due to financial, educational, and social inequality. YES offers long-term individualized, holistic support, with a primary purpose of building a foundation of education as the key to breaking the cycle of generational poverty. Beginning in middle school and continuing through career placement, we work to level the playing field and address the multiple of challenges that historically have prevented low income students form access to academic, social , and (con Sch O) career opportunities. Our long-term holistic support services began as early as elementary school and continue through high school, college, and career placement. These programs include academic enrichment and counseling, rigorous and expansive summer programming, calibrated college counseling, career readiness workshops, and individualized support as we meet the academic, social-emotional, and cultural needs of our scholars at every milestone along their journey. Each phrase of YES programming develops a set of core skills that we have found essential for our scholars' growth and success. At YES, we strive to level the playing field, providing our scholars with the means to access both crucial and transformative opportunities around the country and the world.YES LA serves scholars across Greater Los Angeles County-from Watts, Inglewood, & South Bay to East Los Angeles, Boyle Heights, & DTLA. We identify scholars from 14 Title I middle schools and currently work with 50 independent and boarding school partners. In New York City, scholars are identified from six public schools in Harlem District 5. YES Chicago serves students from the South Side and our Appalachian scholars are identified in rural public schools in Watauga & Ashe Counties in Western North Carolina. YES currently serves almost 700 students across the country and grows by approximately 75 students annually. 100% of YES scholars are accepted to college. More importantly, 93% graduate. YES scholars are attending medical, dental, & law school, as well as a variety of graduate programs across the country. Our graduates are excelling in careers spanning every field and are employed at companies including Apple, Morgan Stanley, Google, KPMG, The Whitney Museum, Teach for America, Goldman Sachs, Boeing, UTA, Mercedes Benz, AmeriCorps, Thompson Reuters, Hogan Lovells LLP, Autodesk, The National Park Service, Banijay Studios, Northrop Grumman, and Legendary Entertainment.
